What's Wrong With Amare?
He just needs more time to get his legs back
He just lost a family member. Give him some time.
He just needs more time to adjust to Melo and Lin.
All of the factors above explain his decline in production
He's got very little left physically. He'll probably continue to struggle.
Nothing. He's still effective. This poll is pure hate.

I think he has gas in the tank. We've seen strong slam dunks from him while playing with Jeremy Lin.

He's been squeezed out of his comfort zone on the hardwoods.

He's not on empty. The question is how far is he from empty. He looks like he's running on empty 95% of the time.

Closer to empty than I thought he would be at this point in his contract. Statistically, he's gone through a drop off that guys usually experience in their 30s.

But you could say that being squeezed out of the comfort zone by Tyson and Melo makes the situation worse than it really is because he literally plays NO defense and doesn't rebound.

IF HE PLAYED TOUGH D AND GRABBED THE BOARDS! WE'RE NOT HAVING THIS DISCUSSION!

I think it is related to his back. The other factors I am sure have a role in it as well.

Amare maybe has to accept the reality that he no longer is the same man physically. Oakley, Kurt Thomas, LJ were all limited in their ability to get high up. But they were players that NY won with.

How about denial?

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

But they were able to play defense rebound and had some type of post up game.

+1

they did not all have a post game but they all could do something to help their respective teams.

I don't know. If you look at his game log last year, his game hit a sharp decline at least a month before the back injury in the playoffs.

I think that month-long swoon can certainly be attributed--in part--to the drastic roster shake-up. But his Game 1 against the Celtics was arguably the best he played all year. He was dominant.

Now? It's physical. He's working hard and he's getting the looks but he has zero pop.

Check out the game log. In the first 11 games with Carmelo, he averaged 28 PPG. It wasn't until mid-March that his game sharply declined.
Look at all the 30 (and even one 40) point games after acquiring Melo on 2/23.

He raised his siblings on his own. So now one of them is dead, is like having his son dead. Have you ever lost a son or daughter? I lost a daughter. Took me 3 years to get over it. Amar'e is just out of sink and can care less and trying to distract himself when he plays. It's really hard and takes some time. I, like all of you guys, would like him to get back on track instantly, but I know that's not going to happen. I'm just glad we're lucky enough to have Lin to have a semi-breakout season.
