He said he "wasn't surprised at all by the play of the 2nd unit, because they have been kicking the first units butt everyday in practice"

Is that a dig? Maybe just a challenge?

Maybe it's just the truth? This second unit rocks

I think Bernard King hit the nail on the head. The unit that gives the most on defense should get the lion's share of the minutes

I think starting Shump and teaming him up with Tyson will do wonders for the starting unit

Perfect. You love to have a healthy competition in practice; it makes everyone better. I remember reading Larry Birds bio and he mentioned that the Green team (Celts bench of the 80's) would give the starters a tough time in their practices.

Loved the way the starters were cheering for the bench players during the run and greeting the them out on the court as they came back to the bench during a timeout. The team seems to be very much toegther and really enjoy being around each other. Signs of a good team are there, just need to put it all together.

The BoomDizzle/SWAGBALLS backcourt combination is lethal in a run and gun game. Add Fields to that second unit with Novak Yowser!

A tale of two halves........

Both units looked not so great in first half, and both looked great in second.

Lets not get excited, its the Cavs!

that's a good challenge from MDA.

and don't you think MDA didn't know that he was saying that on the verge of having three straight days of practice with this team. expect some wars. the team will be better for it. as long as it's good, healthy competition.

this team is really deep now. it actually reminds me of Melo's good teams in Denver - those teams wore you out, bringing a second unit wave almost as strong as the first.

knicks are deep. and have stars.

in a season where everyone said depth would prevail in the regular season and stars in the playoffs, knicks now have both depth and stars. it's good - keeps the opposition guessing and keeps the stars fresh.

I can totally see STAT & Melo loafing in practice. Hopefully they are motivated by Dantoni's proclamation now. These guys along with Fields come out flat virtually every game so the fact that they loaf around in practice makes perfect sense

the spacing between first and second unit is day night.

add JR to the starting line-up and the units are more balanced, each having one legitimate outside threat
