Besides the balls to the wall D, the Discount Novachecks, Tyson's blood and guts play, the key stat of tonight's win:

Jeremy Lin = 13 assists / 1 Turnover
Baron Davis = 8 assists / 0 Turnover

Team = 30 assists / 8 Turnovers

The wonders that taking care of the ball and playing tenacious defense will do.

Not sure about 'tenacious' defense. More like spotty defense with constant scoring fire power.

Both Amare and Melo played better and that alone helps Lin tremendously. I think it's scary how deep we are and how good we can be. We need to go all out as we might lose some bench in the off season.

Lin 13 ast, 1 to
Davis 8 ast, 0 to
Melo 4 ast, 0 to

our three playmakers with a 25:1 assist/turnover ratio

Amare = 0 ast, 3 to

I wonder how much having practice time factored into this. If Lin can cut down on the turnovers, our offense is going to be really efficient with him and Davis finding the open man. Hopefully, this becomes the norm.

Not in the first half obviously, 2nd half definitely (42 points allowed).

years ago, Charles Barkley mentioned on a half-time show that great teams typically get about a 3:1 AST:TO. I would be interested to see what the average is for NBA champs, or conference finals teams or whatever. But his point makes sense... create easy baskets for yourself and limit easy baskets for your opponent. That was one of Chuck Daly's things, btw. The others were defensive rebounding and free throw shooting.
