I'm a bit worried by this:

Tyson Chandler is not happy with his ailing left wrist, with the Knicks center saying that he plans to speak with a doctor to see what can be done.

“It’s still pretty sore,” Chandler said. “I’m gonna talk to the doctor today. I was hoping that the time off and the rest would help me out a little bit, but. . . .”

Chandler, who’s been told that he has “a deep bone bruise and some swelling around the nerves,” said he’s having trouble catching the ball and throwing outlet passes.

He said, “Maybe there’s something that we can do about the swelling or whatever it is around it.”T

There a chance he might sit out a game to rest it if it starts to worsen.

“I’ll just monitor it. If I feel like it’s doing more harm than good, then maybe we’ll discuss it,” Chandler said.

Does anyone know how long bone bruises take to heal? We really need Chandler for our defense, but maybe we should consider resting him (especially against the Cavs).

Hmm, I've looked it up and it seems to take about 3 to 4 weeks to heal- the problem is it's very painful, which will affect his rebounding and catching the ball. In addition, it's one step before a fracture (so we got lucky), but it could be a problem if he lands awkwardly on it again.

sit out the game with the cavs then he'll have more than a week of rest.

Sucks but doesn't seem serious. Just some extra rest, a few games off won't kill us.

if they rest him tomorrow for the cleveland game that would give him almost two weeks off counting the all-star break.

might be time to do that.

we DESPERATELY need this guy for the stretch run.

I had a wrist injury that lingered for a year. Very, very annoying. And taping it for stability doesn't impprove your mobibilty or dexterity in the hand, so you're playing with 1,5 hands.. But it's a good thing it isn't his shooting hand.

Now he will have to get those early fouls with the other hand. Or, does that mean half the fouls?

I have better ball handling, that's for sure. And the injured hand was my right, shooting hand. So no, you're completely right!

The Captain Speaks

Tyson Chandler had 13 points, 15 rebounds and 4 blocks, despite a sore left wrist, and he helped turn the game around with an impassioned halftime speech and his defensive ferocity in the third quarter.

“I just let my teammates know, if we really want to be true contenders, on nights like this we got to show it,” Chandler said. “Nothing’s going to come easy.”
