This is just as idiotic as the Rex Chapman tweet stating that J.R Smith should fit right into Knicks with Lin just because he played basketball in China.

Chapman said that? wth? What about Smith's sister getting "friendly" with the Chinese fans? lol, actually maybe Smith's experience did help him grow as a person a bit, as he has seemed quite the team player so far.

I don't know what to make of that tweet. All I can say is that context is everything. I for one thought Lin being on the Knicks should have made Smith's decision a no brainer from the standpoint of marketing and brand growth. Smith might be the greatest player to ever play in the CBA and playing on a team that's arguably the most popular team in Asia right now can only help him. Maybe that's what Chapman meant?

Will the novelty of Lin being Asian ever wear thin? I sure hope so, cuz I'd love to just see him evaluated based solely on his skills. He's good enough and he deserves that.
