I know the topic of Melo & Amare playing togther has been an issue but I don't think having 2 guys making aprox. 20 mill a year (with Tyson at approx 15 mill) is too much $ invested in 2 players, who are both FORWARDS. (Unless they're Lebron & Durant)

Lin will eventually need to get paid. Also Fields or other complementary players (Wilson Chandler) would need to be paid more than their rookie contracts.

I have a soft spot for Amare but he would be the most likely of the 2 to get traded. (maybe Amare & TD for Marvin Williams & Henrich)

I'm still not totally sold on Melo but he's too talented. Come playoff time we need his ability to make a bucket. If he's the one to get traded then maybe Melo for Danny Granger & Paul George would work.

If the knicks are going to have a 2nd guy making 20 mill then it would have be Dwight Howard. But you would prob trade Amare & Tyson to get that deal done, which then you free up Tyson's $.

i think the last ten games have shown that this team is not shallow. they're actually pretty deep.

i agree amar'e may become a drag on the cap at some point, but he's tough to trade.

otherwise, this team is in pretty good shape.

they aren't hurting for money at all - i don't think money will ever be a reason the knicks let a guy like Landry Fields or Jeremy Lin go.

cap flexibility is out the window. this is the core, barring a trade of amar'e / melo / tyson, this is the core we go with.

Yeah but Lebron/Wade/Bosh making less $ than they could've made somewhere else.

The 20 million dollar player is a thing of the past and we'll have the last 2 at the end of their contracts.
