KT for Malik Rose: New Info?

The chatter around other message boards is that this wasn't a one for one deal as reported and was actually part of a much larger plan to get Rasheed. It might have been KT + Shandon Anderson for Malik Rose + Ron Mercer. Isaiah would then try to spin off Rose for more expiring deals and reroute them to Atlanta for Sheed. Unfortunately it turned out to be too complicated to pull off and IT had to back out. I really don't have a link to substantiate any of this as it is all hearsay, has any one else heard or seen anything? It would seem to make much more sense that this is what happened and definitely looks better for IT. The original report scared me...

good detective work. And the above seems more like the deal that IT would try to pursue. It's always nice to get the real info.

why not just make it a 3 or 4 way... instead of trying to do 2 separate deals... not sure how true this is. I think thomas wants 10 mil per season from nyk, and Nyk only wants to give 8 per (what's been quoted in the papers). Thomas isnt worth 8 mil per season... go fish!

was'nt mlik rose's contract gigantic? why would atlanta want that? what expiring contracts would we have left to give for the trade? sounds too fishy.

jazz I think you misread it. Rose would be traded for expiring contracts and those players gotten would have been sent to Atlanta.

Untrue. Both NY and Sa were finalizing a deal that wouldve sent Malik Rose and a number 1 pick to NY for KT. They were actually going over the parameters of the deal after the trade deadline had expired with NBA lawyers via conference call--you can do that as long as the outline is in before the time limit-- and during the CC--NY abruptly balked citing financial reasons. This was reported in both SA papers, the New york times and the Daily news.

The deal that rasheed finally went in was a deal that was worked on between Boston and Atlanta over a 5 day period via the Boston Globe. the sticking point was Detroit sending Atkins to Boston. I read the whole article and there was no mention of NY.

Ny had no shot at Rasheed in any shape or form because they simply didnt have a 1st round draft pick and ending contracts

yes we did draft him. we traded our 2001 pick for othella harrington and you cant trade 1st round picks 2 years in a row. so we actually drafted Nene and then traded him in the same night. thats why we cant trade a 1st round pick next year.

Techinically he's incorrect.... but what he;s saying is Denver told us to draft Nene, so that they can THEN make a deal.
If anyone knows of a SMART Knicks forum, with lots of activity, and minus people like PLAYA... holla at your boy.
