according to all the articles we're at the top of the list to sign him to a 10 day. Baker looked in good in workouts and was in very good shape. He said he watched the Knicks-Cavs game and thinks we could've used his low post game to beat the Cavs.

I really think Baker will help us a lot. He can take othella's minutes and be the backup PF, maybe even start ahead of KT or maybe not for defensive purposes. But I definitely don't see why he can't take Othella's spot. Sweetney also looks ready to take Othella spot, but you never know with a rookie.

So I say go after the sure thing in Baker. He was averaging 15pts as a starter and can problably average close to 10pts of the bench. He can also shoot the ball I believe, which Othella can't do, so it would make up for losing Doleac Because his offense is that good now that he's back in shape. And who knows maybe he goes back to being the Baker of old with the Knicks

The guy is a complete loser. He is an alcoholic and an excuse maker. He needs constant prodding and is disliked in every town he has ever played in. If you want to let Kurt's hand heal a bit.. fine. Start Othella. Vin is the quintessential lazy athlete. A ten day contract is fine.. but you may want to remove the ! from the post. He was released for a reason. Zeke has to watch it.. too many problem children causes chemistry problems.

I hate danny Ainge, and believe he just waited for baker to fail so he could grab his money from him. Don't get me wrong, Baker messed up, but can you see Danny sending bottles of booze to his room, tempting him to fail? Danny is a sneaky little shoyt.

Ok, that may be out there, but likely did not support him. Thats danny boy. I hate the celts for 30 years.

I hope we get vin and he just tears it up! We likley won't have to pay much, and if he goes on a bender, hes gone.

Vin is a good guy, just troubled.

Songali had 17 pts 13 rebs and 4 assist for sac-town, we could have used a energy like harrington last night.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

according to reports, i heard sweetney looked good in the post. was that true last night? if so we should continue developing him instead of signing baker. either way is fine with me. remember baker looked good the first month when he was'nt off the wagon avg. 15ppg and 6rbs.

Sweetney did look good....for a rookie. He has definatley made progress in his game.

I think Othella on the bench and Sweets and Nazr getting time shows that NY is looking towards developing these guys and not going for the Max number of wins this year. Fits along with the trade of KVH....we are sacrificing wins this season for the future.

I don't mind getting Baker at all. Even with KT, Sweets and Othella, we still need the help he can bring inside. It would be a good pickup, more than likely occurring right around the time Allan comes back.

Andrew, we're not throwing this season by making these moves. Isiah is reconfiguring the Knicks for the stretch run this season, as well as retooling for the future.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

I don't think we are throwing the season...just scrificing wins today for wins later on....whether it be next season or the end of this. I'm in support of it.

yeah like Isiah said a step back now can lead to 2 steps forward in the playoffs once they have completely jelled.

I hear ya. It is unavoidable as far as losing a few, but I would rather lose 3 now to win alot more later. Watch how this thing comes together...

Yeah, it's not like the West where you have to be a winning team to get into the playoffs, and even then you're not a lock!

Knicks can be under .500 the rest of the way and still get the 6th slot. Dolan gets his playoff money. Isiah gets to blow up the team some more over the summer to build around Marbury. Everybody's happy.
