if we had Shump tonight, there is NO WAY deron goes off for 18pts in the third quarter. shump is a lockdown defender and wouldn't have let Deron get open for five-six made 3s in the 3rd quarter.

Shump is one of the most valuable players on this team, along with Lin, Tyson, Fields, Jeffries, Novak, SHUMP has led this resurgence.

players not mentioned include Amar'e Stoudemire and Carmelo Anthony. one of those "all-star" scorers needs to be traded ASAP.

+1

Shumps defense is so valuable. He scares me into thinking that he will be an injury prone player since he has a very helter skelter style.

This is why I felt that Iman was at a disadvantage in the ROY race, cuz what he does is hard to quantify. It's like if Darrell Revis shuts down his receivers all game there may not be any exciting plays to show what he does unless he gets an interception. Shump doesn't really get any stats that light up the boxscore by shutting guys down, except for steals. That makes it seem like his impact isn't as big as it is. He's been HUGE for this team and our improved Defense. He's a much better players than he's given credit for while guys like Rubio and Irving put up offensive stats that make people gush over them.

His left knee had a lot of pain. That is the one he sprained I think. Coaches minutes got to him...

We sure could have used him on Deron last night, bet he changes the game just like he did against Toronto and Calderon.

No he injured his RIGHT KNEE and it wasn't due to MDA overplaying him. Things like this do happen to players when they unintentionally overcompensate for an injured leg. It's hard to not favor a leg you've injured out of fear you might re-injure it. Happens all the time. This was a good day to rest him now that we have JR. It just didn't work out tonight.

Good news. And yeah familiar with overcompensation but coach still played him a lot. Hopefully he can heal ok. We miss his defense bit on offense JR is an upgrade. No one touches Shumps defense.

perhaps you should begin your response with "I think" or "I believe" or "IMHO". You are not the team doctor or an assistant coach. You have no idea if his minutes should have been reduced, if he was nursing a bad leg ... Your just a regular fan like the rest of us who just happens to have a puppy crush on our leader.

I am not saying that it was/is MDA's fault because I have no way of knowing.

Hey man you know what, don't tell me what I know or don't know. Did you even look at how the kid has been used over the last 10 games before bashing my comment?

Those are hardly burnout type minutes for a young player.

I agree. They are not burnout type minutes but perhaps his cramps / knee issues required 15 minutes a game. How do WE know? You say things with such certainty as if you are part of the inner-inner circle.

I love shump but am worried about his ability to stay healthy. We need him terribly on defense and do not want to see him overplayed. I myself, did not think that he was overplayed but what do I know. I just "think" or "believe" that is/was the case.

Your respond in some of these threads like you are "His Honor"
