The Knicks do what consistent teams don't do, and that is lose to pathetic teams. We now know the Hornets loss wasn't just a "bad" game. It was just another game that they didn't want to win as bad as the opponent did, similar to tonight.

We have the pieces to be a 2nd round team, but a first round exit from Miami, Chicago, or the 3rd seed is much more likely.

There are still off nights, there are still guys not focusing and paying attention to detail.

And Mike Dantoni is still head coach.

You're right, it's not contending with Carmelo.

Take Carmelo off and it's right back to contending.

Never forget the Mavericks win. Never forget that win when the Melo excuses start coming at you like a tidal wave.

LOL!!!real

My GOD!!!

8-1 without Melo.

What did I tell you guys two weeks ago? Knicks are losing first 2 with Melo, AT LEAST, and even a 4 or 5 game losing streak wouldn't surprise me.

Do you even bother to consider the circumstances or only the results of each game? Does it not matter that we've changed what was working when Lin was on a streak and now we have STAT and Melo playing in the SL and not really in a flow yet with Lin?

This team needs some practices to get things worked out. There's just no way to have this work unless they fully understand and develop a flow together. We're back to square one with our starters cuz they haven't played as a group since Lin broke out on the scene.

+1

Its going to take time for them to mesh. Lin looks like he is up for the job.

So by next win we will rule the world. Then next loss we should rebuild?

Got it.

Didn't the Nets beat Chicago? Shit happens move on this is the NBA you win some and you lose some. You got to start thinking you can't win them all last I checked every team has losses like the Knicks. You know what it will happen again many times over

I think we have a nice pieces in place.
Roster is complete and balanced.
But is is complicated and if it work out this will very good winning team for years to go.
If not, we have a lot of possibilities to change things - change coach, trade Amare or Melo, or both...
So it looks optimistic long term.
For this year making the playoffs looks probable. More than that questionable.

The team has potential.

The funny thing is the odd man out on this team isn't Amare or Melo. It's Chandler.

The Knicks with the current personnel aren't a D'Antoni team. This team needs set half court offense like Boston and Chicago. The problem then becomes Chandler's complete lack of an offensive game outside of 5 feet from the rim with no post game too go along with it. Chandler in the middle is almost forcing us to be a jump shooting team when we should be able to pound the ball inside with Amare and Melo.

That's an interesting take. But don't agree every single personnel is not his type of team. I don't recall the coach having any jump shooting center in Phoenix but interesting angle.

Net's interior is soft as pudding. I watched them get destroyed last night by Milwaukee.

Knicks dont ever throw the ball into the post. It's like we live and die by jumpers. Lebron worked on post moves over the summer for a reason.

We dont even punish teams down low.

Tonight we can't contend. Thursday we'll pull off a tough win and everyone will be back to praising. Then we'll lose to the Celts and it starts all over again.
