You can talk about Lin's turnovers if you want. Or you can complain that he's shooting too much.

But we're winning, and here's why, and its not his scoring. The most telling statistic of how he has the team jelling and sharing the ball by looking at the balanced scoring in the wins we've had during the Lin Dynasty. Below are the number of players that scored in double digits per game. Incredible! I don't remember the knicks ever having such a balanced attack (too young for the seventies). Thank you, Jeremy, for making Knicks basketball fun again!

Vs Dallas - 6
Vs Sacramento - 7 (almost 8!)
Vs Minnesota - 5
Vs LA - 3
Vs Wash - 5
Vs Utah - 5
Vs NJN - 4

Interesting. No one finds this remarkable?
Even in the good ol' 90's we weren't doing this. It was Ewing for 25, Starks (or Wilkins, or...) for 12, and then a bunch of guys for 6 pts each.

I do I was trying to compare this stat wise with other PGs in their early days but wasn't able to come up wit that. This definitely shows the impact on the team this guys has had, prior to him playing we were getting two guys in double digits on average.

We had some real weapons coming into the season, now we have the trigger mechanism in place. Magic made the point today Lin's got them all playing their best games.

Well, not exactly. In most years in the 1990s, the Knicks had at least 5 players average double figures.

http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/NYK/1995.html

In the 1994-1995, we had 6 players average double figures, with a 7th (Anthony Mason) averaging 9.9. We also had 6 players in 1995-1996.
I'd imagine we had a lot of games with 4+ players in double figures.

The best way to look at it is was pre-Linsanity era vs Linsanity era. One thing that's kind of fascinating is that in the Lin era, he has led the team in scoring almost every time.

The biggest factor with Lin is, I think, his leadership & his will to win - its infective, and for the first time all year, has guys trying hard and giving maximum effort.

This was something I felt MDA should have been able to do a better job of.

Agree....but to add something else. Lin coming in was perceived to be a good unselfish kid. So eventhough he's putting up more shots than Melo, the team still plays hard.

When Melo (a perceived selfish gunner) was running the show, the team didn't give as much effort. But instead just stood around and watched. I've been on teams with players like Melo, and I loose most of the time.

Teams that has a perceived good unselfish kid like Lin, usually has a team giving more effort on both ends....I think it's officially Lins team now, and Melo or Baron doesn't want to be the guy that disrupts the legend of Linsanity....
