That through 32 games...
1) Melo would have missed 10 games
2) Melo would be averaging less than 25 ppg
3) Amare would have missed 7 games
4) Amare would be under 20 ppg
5) Team 3 point FG% would be under 30%
How many of you would be thrilled to hear when I then told you that:
A) We are 16-16 despite the injuries
B) We found a PG that is now playing like a top 5 player at his position and oh....he's only 23 and we can keep him long-term
C) JR Smith is now a Knick and can help strengthen what was once a major weakness for us (3 pt shooting)....especially when on the floor with Novak
D) Amare has only just come back and still needs to shake off some rust...meaning we haven't seen what this team can fully do yet
E) Building on D)....Melo still hasn't come back yet....another major weapon that will relieve some of the pressure off Lin and make us even tougher to stop
F) Our defense is playing at a high level and our offense will only continue to get better
G) The guy that was supposed to be our savior at our worst position can now potentially be the best backup PG in basketball, making it potentially our best position
Enjoy guys, we've gone through a lot but it's a great time to be a Knicks fan right now.
