This interesting tidbit about the Knicks schedule got my attention:

Including the All-Star break, the Knicks will have one game in a nine-day stretch beginning Friday to start figuring things out.

“We have about four or five practices we can do,” D’Antoni said. “And we’ll get everybody together, and that will be big, major.”

This works out to the benefit of the team as they look to make the final push. They can have a bit of a mini camp to really get everyone on the same page. With this crazy season and compacted schedule a break like this is key to the team really having a chance to come together. They didn't have a break like this last year after the trade.

After the Miami game on the 23rd. The next game will be Feb 29th. Having a few full practices will be a welcome opportunity to get the chemistry right. This team will need it cuz the schedule isn't easy anymore this Dallas game starts a run of games with good teams packed in that takes us thru the end of the season.

If Melo were about it, he would skip All-Star weekend and hit the stacks, study hard and come out swinging after the break.

We luck out because after the break, we play Cleveland at home on Wednesday the 29th, then have three days off till going to Boston. D'Antoni says he expects to have four or five practices between the end of the break and the Boston game.

And we will need them, because starting with that game at Boston on March 4, the schedule is brutal:

At Boston
At Dallas
At San Antonio
At Milwaukee
Vs. Philly
At Chicago
Vs. Portland
Vs. Indiana
At Indiana
Vs. Toronto
At Philly

And we have four sets of back-to-backs in that 18-day stretch.

It also gives guys like Davis, Stat, Melo, and Jorts, a chance to rest and recover. Lucky break and good idea to make use of it.

Right now the Celtics are losing to the Pistons. This is huge. The C's play the Mavs tomorrow and we play the Nets. Philly is in a tight game with Minny. This will be interesting to pay attention to.

Wow, Minny is really playing great as of late. They are at .500 with 16-16. Really impressive for such a young team, but in this kind of season, their great talent is proving its worth.

Ricky Rubio is also the real deal, though Im so glad I don't have to envy Minny since we have JLin. Great!

Its funny because when we beat minny the night after the lakers people said it wasn't a big deal. But they are a decent team they have rubio and two monsters inside
