The 48-day standoff between the MSG Network and Time Warner Cable ended Friday, according to two people aware of the resolution who were not authorized to speak publicly.

The end of the impasse will be announced Friday afternoon by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and executives of both companies. A settlement had been urged by Eric T. Schneiderman, the state’s attorney general. The governor’s intervention in the past 24 hours with James L. Dolan, executive chairman of Madison Square Garden, and Glenn Britt, chief executive of Time Warner Cable, accelerated the agreement.

The blackout deprived many Knicks fans around the state of seeing much of the rapid rise to stardom of point guard Jeremy Lin — as well as the continued success of the New York Rangers.

The impasse began Jan. 1 with the companies disagreeing angrily over what Time Warner Cable would pay to continue carrying MSG. Time Warner Cable, which serves more than two million customers, insisted that MSG reneged on a proposal for a 6.5 percent increase late last year and then demanded a 54 percent hike. MSG has never discussed figures publicly but said Time Warner’s were not accurate.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Color me happy. Praise be to FirstRowSports for hooking us up until now. But 480i on my droid (even when connected to flat screen via HDMI) left much to be desired.

GREAT NEWS!!!

Not that I missed any games anyway, thanks to my trusty TWC RoadRunner, Sony Internet TV, FirstRowSports and VIPBox.

It'll be a welcome relief to just watch my games in HD on MSG again, though. Yessir!

Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

praise Lin and the caller who suggested to Mike Francessa to get both parties to tell their stories on air. Which led to the challenge to finally meet face to face and get a deal done the next day

That is the only thing bad about this. Francessa is going to be intolerable that he fixed the rift.

I was listening to him on the way home and he said he couldn't take credit for it because once he got involved he discovered they were already back in negotiations. He is pretty intolerable anyway. I never got how he got the afternoon drive time slot.

Called TWC as we still have NBATV broadcasting in place of the MSG channel. The customer service rep I spoke with said they were still negotiating with MSG and that she didn't think the game would be on tv tonight. I am sure this is a done deal but I am not sure about tonights game. If anyone gets any updates please post them.

Actually a caller just called up to give him credit.and he said he had nothing to do with it & Lin got the deal done. Anyway I don't think it hurt

LOL a caller called up to suggest trading for johnny flyn and and Mike couldn't shut him down because apparently he didn't know who flyn was. His answer was that he doesn't see the Knicks adding another star

NYT reporting that TWC customers can watch the game TONIGHT on MSG...

Time Warner and Sports Network Are Said to Reach Deal
The 48-day standoff between the MSG Network and Time Warner Cable ended Friday, according to two people aware of the resolution who were not authorized to speak publicly.

The end of the impasse will be announced Friday afternoon by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and executives of both companies. A settlement had been urged by Eric T. Schneiderman, the state’s attorney general. The governor’s intervention in the past 24 hours with James L. Dolan, executive chairman of Madison Square Garden, and Glenn Britt, chief executive of Time Warner Cable, accelerated the agreement, which is a long-term deal.

The blackout deprived many Knicks fans around the state of seeing much of the rapid rise to stardom of point guard Jeremy Lin — as well as the continued success of the New York Rangers. Friday night’s Knicks game will be available to all Time Warner customers.
