The team has talent, but we have always had talent. Lin really is the key. If he can stay healthy and click with Melo, this team would be no worse than third best in the east.

I like it. This roster makes sense now. We have guys in proper positions. We've got size and depth. Good defensive level. GREAT offensive level. I think this team matches up well against just about any team in the league. They just need tome to gel and blend in Melo, JR and hopefully Baron.

We're gathering the pieces for a run at the Championship. It is very possible if we don't get any serious injuries.

One thing to say positive about Dolan - he doesn't hesitate to go all in.

Nothing wrong with this move.

I agree. Was just looking at the positive at this particular point in time. I think it is a very good move. I blasted Dolan plenty when he meddled in on the trades when Donnie was GM.

I think JR Smith should eventually start.

Smith and Melo on the perimeter for open shots or creating space
Amare and Chandler on the pick and roll & clean up
Lin penetrating and dishing

Its close to unstoppable if it works out.

Just manage the mins so that either Melo or Amare are always on the court and the bench scoring isn't a concern.

Small ball needs Novak over Fields at the three

Break Up The Brainy Backcourt?

Without his best buddy Landry, Lin is lost. What kind of pre game pantomime routine can Jeremy invent with JR?

Nah, it just does not work. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

We're on a roll...things are going well...
then here comes Dolan to screw it up as usual.

Right now, our chemistry is off the charts.
It's bad enough that we have to cross fingers on Melo adapting....
now we have to play with yet ANOTHER ME FIRST player in JR.

Bad move.

Fields has fit in great with Lin, but my biggest concern is the lack of a 3-point specialist in the starting lineup. That would be my only argument to add Smith into the lineup. But we will go for now and see what happens.

starting minutes don't matter. it's all about who finishes, and I'll be damned if Smith isn't our closer at SG. Shumpert might replace him for key defensive possessions, but there is absolutely no reason Fields needs to be on the floor the last 6 minutes of a close game (barring foul trouble, injuries, etc.)

Definately considering Landry is shooting like Shaq from the line.

Could have used JR tonight! I still feel like Landry is a great surprise, but I would rather rely on JR against a strong defense than Landry when it comes down to a big moment in a game.
If you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train.

I think this is a Grunwald move. I think Dolan trusts his basketball guys and lets them run things.

did he trust walsh when he didn't want to make the melo trade (as it ended up being constructed atleast)?
