He looks active and athletic, and he hits the boards, but man this kid has terrible hands. He's got fumbleitis.
Will probably need another year or two.

was thinking the same thing last night des. saw him make a couple nice plays on the offensive boards but on more than one occassion he jumped for the ball, outjumped everyone and the ball just bounced off his hands. really needs to work on that, he'd be a solid backup to tyson if he can straighten it out.

I think he has decent hands (not so good last nite), solid post moves (better than Chandler). He's not naturally very quick, though. He can play center on D if given the opportunity to plan and think ahead, but he's not a guy who adjust and challenge (at all) on the perimeter, nor can he get any loose balls out of arm's length.

Could evolve into a useful deep bench player, but he's deep insurance for Jorts.

So we shouldn't trade/cut him?

No he is raw but is a nice piece to have if anything were to happen to Tyson for an extended period of time. He can develop for a year or two in the mean time.

Like Lin he had a strong showing when sent down to the dleague but as NYKBocker pointed out in that thread he was mostly a beneficiary of Lin's playmaking in that game where Lin had the triple double. He will get stronger. You can't teach height and athletism. He has some nice offensive skills for a 7 footer and is a good shotblocker. His other skills will come with time as he develops.

The Knicks scouting of late has been off the charts. Whether its walsh, grunfeld, mda or whoever. They wouldn't have drafted him last year and stash him overseas for a year and now bring him to the big leagues if they didn't feel he'd be worth developing

you don't need to cut Bibby. The roster is at 15 with Davis. You only cut Bibby if you add a guy like JR Smith

why would you cut him? that's effing nuts. he get's to learn and practice with Chandler as well as Amar'e, and will compete for PT with Jorts. I love having JJ3 on the roster. he's a project that could pay off huge in a few years

He ain't about nothin' yet. But he could be, one day.

I think he can ball. Spotlight affects him I think. In D league he killed it.

He was catching the oops Tyson gets now.

Minutes with Lin would make him look better.
