The NBA would like to add New York Knicks sensation Jeremy Lin to the Haier Shooting Stars competition during All-Star weekend, the New York Daily News reports.

A source told the newspaper the league hopes to add Lin to the Feb. 25 event in Orlando, Fla. Each team in the competition features one current NBA player, one current WNBA player, and one TNT on-air talent and legend.

Lin, a second-year point guard, has started six games and led the Knicks to seven straight wins. His strong performance the past two weeks has drawn international attention, including from President Barack Obama, and led to debate about whether he would be invited to participate in All-Star weekend.

Broke yesterday by Isola and Daily News, could be official by the league soon.

Haier is obviously a very large sponsor of the event and a company domiciled in China.

Obvious great connection for the league and its sponsor.

I hope he wins!

Depends on his teammates. Wonder who the Knicks vet and the Liberty representative will be?

hope Walt Frazier gets the nod

or if not Allan Houston would be great!

It would be cool though if its frazier, so that he can talk highly on Lin
