already know some here believe this about melo, but as a few others have (not so popularly) argued, there is some indication that he has demonstrated the ability to do well in a team ball system...

easy one to recall is when he played on the...

ta dah!...

mda offense designed olympic team (especially 2008) where he was one of the teams' best performers, if i recall correctly...

yes, that was a star studded team, of course, but he played quite smoothly within that system...

on denver, he was easily the most reliable scorer, and billups style, after his arrival on the nuggets, was not suited for a nash-like approach...of which lin is clearly more comfortable with...

i expect melo to florish eventually, because the man is gonna get major open looks and opportunities to attack the basket with lin doing his thing...

however, this knicks team is bound to be in a different place than it was when melo was somewhat healthy and our only reliable offensive option without a real pg, and he will have to adapt the most...

as a result, i expect guys like berman and isola to harp on this since i expect melo to take a few games, at least, to adapt to the team with lin running the point.

it will feed into those that already want to believe this notion, but don't say one was not warned...

Ewing was a legend. I mean if joradn wasn't arounf then people would be talking about ewing because there is no doubt the knicks would have won at least 4 titles

no doubt, he was, but ewing was also called out later in his career as a 'black hole' (not entirely an unfair statement) that after we got spree and camby, led some to believe that the team would be better off without him.

Ya but ewing was at the end of his career at that point and injuries were breaking him down. melo is starting to get injured a lot whiich is a bad sign since he is suppose to be in his prime years

I think Melo's current injuries are an anomaly, given the short training camp and condensed season.

That may very well be true but it just seems like every other game he injures himself. believe ir or not i do actually want the guy to play since he is a top scorer
