Anthony has seen the speculation on television and the Internet. And he thinks it's pretty amusing, calling Lin's recent ascension "a dream come true" for the Knicks (13-15).

"When I'm reading the stuff, it's more funny than anything because at the end of the day I know what I bring to the game, I know what I bring to this team," Anthony said on Monday after missing practice due to a strained right groin. "My teammates know that. But to say, 'How can I fit in?' It's easy; give him the ball and space out. I get back to doing what I know how to do best. So we'll see."

Anthony said he is confident that he can fit in well with Lin, who missed practice on Monday for a standard recovery day and will play on Tuesday against the Toronto Raptors. Anthony has missed the Knicks' last three games after injury his groin on Monday against Utah. He is happy that Lin has emerged to take some of the load off of his shoulders.

"I know there's questions about, 'Can I fit in?' and stuff like that, but this is like a dream come true to me," Anthony said. "It takes some pressure off of me. I don't have to play point guard. I don't have to try to get Amare 20 points, try to get this guy 20 points, me try to go out there and get 25-30 points a night, play defense, rebound do the whole thing."

It's clear that the Knicks have looked like a different team since Lin took over at point guard.

New York is averaging 11 more points per 48 minutes with Lin on the floor. The Knicks' shooting percentage is five percent higher with Lin.

Lin and Anthony rank fourth and fifth, respectively, in usage rate -- a measurement of how many possessions a player uses per 40 minutes. So they will have to find a happy medium when it comes to handling the ball. Anthony said there will still be opportunities for him to run isolation plays but Lin will be the team's primary ball-handler.

"I don't think I want to take that away, I don't think coach wants to take that away," Anthony said. "But at the same time, I have to get away from the ball knowing that Jeremy is the guy with the basketball, and knowing that he can create for me, for Amare, for everybody else and make other guys better."

Coach Mike D'Antoni acknowledged that adjustments will need to be made when Anthony returns.

But he openly questioned anyone who assumes Anthony will struggle to fit in.

"I think that's ludicrous in a sense. Until you prove it, it's like anything else," the coach said.

I think the highlighted area is key but I laughed out loud with him saying 25-30 pts which is more than anyone else. That's a scorer for you.the

maybe it was a wake up call to melo. In all honesty this might have been the best thign for melo. Now he sees that he is getting heat so he has to adjust his game. so all the melo fans need to realize that we are syaing this so melo can change for the better and help the team

Not wake up call. Melo gets to play the Paul Pierce role. Now it's Lin's job to get Amare and Chandler going as well as the other scrubs.

I was laughing with my brother actually. Melo pulled the fast one. He gets to do what he wanted anyway which is score and rebound.

Expecting Lin to get scrubs to produce consistently is a fools errand that is no longer Melo's problem.

There were Melo haterz before he even got here. These are the ones that are making most of the noise. The thing is that Lin is the PG and he has to make sure to execute the offense as it's intended to run. That means that MDA has his plays designed to focus on getting the ball to his primary scorers and so by nature of the focus of the offense STAT and Melo will be primary targets for Lin. I see no problem so long as they execute the plays. This is about motion and passing and the ball moves to the open man. The defense can't take away everything if they have to double just to stop our guys.

STAT, Melo and Lin can't be stopped by single coverage so teams have to give help and that will leave someone open. Lin will keep being fed even more plays by MDA and the longer they all play together the more variations they'll have in order to attack teams and keep the D off balance.

That shows you that lin in his first 4 starrts did more for this team with "scrubs" than melo did for a year lol.

Not really. This is why scrubs are scrubs. When things are going good they look good. When things are going bad they look terrible.

I think you should check the box scores. Steve Novak picked up the scoring load for 3 games. Plus random guys stepped up for different games. No one was really had improved consistency while Lin played. Lin just played great individual ball.

i agree novak isn't a great player but the guy can shoot and lin can get him the ball. shumpert is now in his natural position and he is taking off. look i never said lin is the only reasosn but he is the main reason.

Yes, wakeup calls from the scum press and idiot fans. I'm sure those two things are the core of what drives every NBA player to wake up every morning.

Its common sense this is why I don't doubt him. If Melo was as bad a team player as people made him out to be over the last few days then he would have never won as many games as he has over his career.
