Lin has been scoring cuz we actually NEED a primary scorer with STAT and Melo out. Also the way MDA's system works is that the PG must be seen as a LEGIT threat to score at any time. This is why the defense has to focus on him and that leaves Lin's teammates wide open for scores. It's a very simple principle, but the better scorer the PG is, the better this system works. That's way Nash is so good. He can score at a 50% clip and so defenses have to devote a lot of attention towards stopping him. Then since he's such a great passer he gets tons of easy looks for his teammates.
The guy that has the best ability to handle the ball and make decisions should be your primary threat. Lin is able to constantly break down the defense and create and this is why MDA's teams have been among the top in offensive efficiency. I believe that Lin can continue to be that threat, but not be forced to put up as many shots as he's been doing, cuz now he has STAT and Melo coming back to pass to and finish. However, Lin will score less but still have the potential to put up big nights like this. It won't be cuz he comes back down to earth. It will be a matter of practicality.
