Just discussed on First Take on ESPN-Apparently someone tweeted about whether Carmelo had heard about Lin. Carmelo-ZI hadn't heard about-thanks for letting me knnow. My take-Carmelo will feed off Lin and we take off from there.

Every team needs some who can take over in the 4th quarter. Outside of Kevin Durante, kobe, and D wade, no one is better at taking over than Melo. We will need Melo. It will all work itself out.

Some comments to NY Daily News article on how Carmelo will react to Lin's rise

May I remind yall again that Melo won in college and was the best scorer on the olympic team (where he played with deron/cp3/billups) with d'antoni as the assistant coach... Melo doesn't have to do that much again, he will just pick his spots now and burn other teams, and when the doubles/triples come Melo (an excellent passer) will kick to Stat or Lin or fields or CHandler or Shumpert or NOVAKANE... we got a team now... and of course if melo disrupts or stagnates the offence he will have himself to blame... Amare will benefit the most as he will pick n roll team to death with Lin... JR smith n BAron (if healthy) will only strenghten the depth of the Knicks team,,,

When Melo and Stat return Lin's point total will go down but his assists should go way up. The Knicks will not just win they should dominate the weak teams and compete with the elite teams.

Sometimes you need some luck.Big picture wise we did the right thing when we got Tyson, even though we hated losing Mr Big Shot. It's easier to get a point guard than a center. We got lucky with Lin.He's young, hungry ,humble and wants to learn and get better. We dont need JR Smith who is good. But we have Fields,Shumpart and Bill Walker, young guys who get better every game.If Baron can come back and imagine this spell Lin and give us some minutes at the 2 at certain situations we are set.

Melo has played with Chauncey, Iverson, Andre Miller and Ty Lawson, all decent point guards and co-existed fine,he will do the same with Lin

According to Stephen A it was Melo who was imploring the coach to play LIN.The problem is that same coach here's why.It took him this long to figure it out.

Stephan A. just likes to make trouble.

The process of Lin on the roster, get in shape, Dleague, and get some practice in to show his stuff was all very understandable.

Junk time here and there really did not show what we all know.

I saw the kid play garbage time in Charlotte. Watched him close and really there was nothing to see. Knicks were chucking up shots with the game in hand and Charlotte was already cooked.

Im wondering how this all effects Baron and his expectations. He has not played and his back can go at any time.

Its Lins job to lose. Baron can play the 2 and Fields can slide to the 3 to give Melo a break or if in foul trouble.

Here's what Melo said when asked about this Lin issue by Jonah Ballow:

"It's more exciting than anything just to see the buzz he [@JLin7] has created" @carmeloanthony

"It's easy, give him [@JLin7] the ball & space out. I get back to do what I know how to do best." @carmeloanthony

People have been demonizing him, but Melo's attitude has been good this season- he's a good guy, not the villain people seem to want to paint him as.

Melo was asked to be the point forward earlier this season- the ball was to go through him- it was a disaster, but that was the role he was given. And we looked just as bad without him playing before Lin was given a chance

Carmelo and Lin will share plenty of smiles as they both play with joy.

Forget the haterade, watch how they communicate.

Go Knicks.

i've been down on Melo because i thought he could perform better in the point forward role. never questioned him as a scorer and i certainly think he's going to find a way to fit now that all the pieces are in the right place.

hard to imagine the team will somehow get worse when we Amare and Melo start getting the touches that Jeffries and Walker have been getting.

Yeah, he is spaced out alright.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

I don't even know why he is responding to the tweets. He should just keep his mouth shut and when the opportunity comes play ball and enjoy the game. Period.
