With resources scarce, did we really just give this guy $2MM for next year?
Does anyone think we would lose him to another team if we wanted to keep him for much less?
Does that 2MM cut into what we can do with free agents, or no?

Actually good play. I think extending TD got us the MLE for next year.

gut check: anyone out there think TD will regain his form, or is this the beginning of the end of his time in the NBA?

he will regain. but perhaps not this year. And not if he has to do heavy PG duty

i definitely do. i think a couple of factors are going to allow him to regain his form 1. all these "DNP-coaches decision" are going to get him to work harder and 2. i think his shoulder is still not right, which probably means he's compensating somehow and it's just totally thrown him off. he is a solid 12ppg scorer off the bench when his role is to come in and score, but as martin said he's no pg - only spot duty.

Douglas played very well earlier in his career. Maybe he can return to form. For only $2 mil, it's an OK gamble. If something better comes along and they need a roster spot, I'm sure they'd be willing to waive him. I wouldn't view the team as being glued to him now.

fans reactions are akin to "selling low and buying high".

The guy has sucked all of about 20 games after a nice solid career of improving.

He had some big surgery and might not be fully back from it.

Also I read he is dealing with some big "off court" issues.

These guys are not trading cards nor robots.

All teams must figure in injuries and personal issues. Ebb and flow.

Not every player is going to surge every year.

not every waiver wire pickup is going to turn into Jeremy Lin

I like the chances of TD regaining his prior form better than finding someone who can log heavy minutes on the waiver wire

The guy will come in and make it rain for you. Just don't ask him to lead the offense.

When his shoulder is fully healed, watch for some serious trey dropping.
