Now that we have witnessed Rubio up close and we have seen Lin produce for 5 straight games, the question comes to mind. Who would you rather have as the Knicks PG? Lin or Rubio?

Obviously, Lin is here now but if you could get Rubio for Lin, would you do it?

Keep Lin
Rather have Rubio over Lin

Lin has an overall better game and remember lin has been playing without bigtime scorers. Rubio has love

I can't vote on this. Like GoNy said, Lin is too good of a story. I'm very proud to have him on our team. That said, Rubio did impress me tonight, and he's going to have one hell of a career.

Rubio is a beast of an athlete and PG, but I just like Lin's game better. Rubio is really impressive as a pure passer and much better defensively than I thought. Lin is a very good defender himself and he's just a bit better at breaking down a defense. Tonight was a bad game to judge Lin off of cuz he's worn down.

I voted Lin, but too small a sample size on both. All I have is first impressions. Rubio has really good vision and anticipation, Lin has equally good vision and better finishing ability. Lin will keep defenses honest for STAT/Melo.
TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!

They both have incredible games. You can say Rubio plays better ball denial defense (Damn long arms and quick with them), gets more steals, sees the court maybe a little better (or is that just his flashiness?). Lin is the better rebounder, better athlete (I think), better finisher, better scorer and shooter. That last bit to me sets them apart. I mean Rubio is shooting like 37% this year, 31% over his last 5 games. That is with that great front line of Love and that guy from Superman II. To think that Lin has put up these stats with mostly our backups.

They both can get you 8 assists, but I think Lin will up that to 12 (yes I'm calling it) once he has Stat and Melo. I'm guessing Lin settles in on 15 and 12 with 4 or 5 rebounds a game and 2 steals and 2 or 3 TO's. Now, to shoot what Lin does and get the assists that Rubio does, I choose Lin every day of the week even though he is two years older. (Consider Rubio has been playing pro ball for years. Lin is just starting, lots of room for improvement).

For now I'll say Rubio. The reason is that Lin is turning the ball over too much. If he can fix that, I'll change my vote.

Your basing your assessment on TO's? Lots of great players have a fair amount of TO's because the ball is in their hands a lot. (Lebron comes to mind. Even Wooden said TO's are overated). When you look at the stat sheet it looks bad, but when you watch the game it's fine. 1 TO per quarter for a driving PG is acceptable, but he'll improve on it. Also, he only had two games in the last 5 with high TO's. Last night he was gased. And, Rubio isn't a scorer (and can't be as his shot is very bad) so he isn't going to have the opportunity to turn it over on drives and finishing (another area Lin is better at) anywhere near as much as Lin.

How about the rebounds Lin gets? He is averaging 4 a game.

Rubio was very impressive last nite. He is still only 21 years old. Young man is quick and long.

His shooting will bet better.

Lin or Rubio?

Im glad we got one of them! I'd take either but Lin did not cost us any assets to acquire.

Lin or Rubio is right. We have Lin they Rubio. Would not mind other way around either. Rubio's style is more fun but Lin is an inspiration.

If you look at his age, then yeah, a 21 year old should be able to improve. But don't overlook the fact that he has been playing pro ball for 8 years now, and thereby has had access to some incredible coaching. This game has been his livelihood for 8 years. While other cats were studying to pass tests, taking out the garbage, trying to get a scholarship to play at a college, and basically having a more balanced life, Rubio was basically just playing ball.

Age will only get you so far. Also, I think his body is not that of a 21 year old due to all the years of very physical pro ball he played. It is probably much worse than our guys here in the US that turned pro right from high school then are just hurting before or around they are 30. Lin should be good here. He has the body of a 21 year old ;-)

Anyone playing in the NBA spent their life pretty much just playing ball!

Come on, going to high school and playing basketball is a hell of a lot different than playing pro ball( having star coaches, and getting paid, playing with other pros, etc.) Yeah, they may play a lot of ball in high school, but nothing like a pro player and the fringe benefits just aren't there. There is a reason why when pro's come over from Europe at 21 or so, they are much more sound than 21 year olds coming out of college and into the NBA here.

The quality of instruction might be different but the time commitment is the same. Guys play on multiple teams over the year here, It's not just one high school team.

Pistol Pete 2.0 or Nash 2.0? Can't go wrong with either one. I would rather have Lin.
