I mean I never really took that serious when MDA and Tyson said it. But this team as a whole, all of a sudden looks deep and prime for a run.

We got shooters like jorts, novak, walker, melo
Slashers like Iman, fields, Lin Diddy
We got some solid defensive players, and a decent defensive game plan(with the trapping)
the best ISO player/clutch in the NBA next to kobe and wade.
We got a legit center, and bonfide PF who can score in the PnR at will.

And a glue guy..

Youth and veteren leadership with high character

So what are we missing?

I LOLed.

We have 1-2 shooters which is clearly not enough.
We have no bench scoring. No bench PG.

Add JR Smith and Baron Davis and this is a championship roster.

Still, things have to mesh in 40 games.

Obviously, it all hinges on Lin. If he's the real deal (it sure looks like it), then we are two pieces away from really competing for a ring. I think we need another shooter in the backcourt (A consistant shooting guard would be nice) and a big up front who can post-up some.

you must be joking. shump's limited range will be a liability come postseason.

When we played the Bulls, you could see that we weren't outclassed. This team with JLin is a totally different deal. They have to use the remaining games to see if they can build chemistry with everyone back. If they can do that I think this team has as good a chance as any to make a run. Neither the Bulls or Heat are really gonna be able to dismiss us like other teams cuz we match up really well with those teams.

lol. deng didn't play and he usually locks down Melo better than anybody else in the league. no rip either.

And the playoffs are completely different. Plenty of times one team sweeps another team in the regular season only to lose their playoff match-up without posing much of a challenge. Strategies are actually implemented in the postseason and then tweaked and adjusted as the series progresses until they are effective. That's why we nearly steal both games in Boston last year only to have them rape us the next two games at home.

Yes, to much talent with 3 of our top players being majorly playoff battle tested. As well as the coach. Lin playing the way he is makes things possible.

How could you say we have no bench, when the bench is starting right now and winning..

we may not have lights out shooters, but giving the time and room (which you will always have in this system) we have adequate shooters to keep the defense honest..

I'll settle for eliminating Miami in the playoffs. Man, that'd be awesome!

Far from it...We have good pieces but that doesn't make a Championship team...We have to learn how to win...We have to play our style of ball and dare folks to stop us...We have to establish roles for our stars...Coach has to emphasis more defense...We have the ingredients and the rest of the season to make the peices fit...

I just think if Melo totally buys in were good..I already know Baron will pick this up really quickly..

our bench was playing so poorly, cause everyone was out of position, more importantly, TD was the blame for a lot of our issues..Poor shooting, jacking up 3's, no spacing, forcing the ball into a iso situation.

How often did melo ever ignite a fast break, along with his poor shooting, he was also the culprit.
to much thinking and poor reacting..

It all comes down to Carmelo. If he will adjust to Lin which would be a ball-moving wing player who will shoot & post-up..then no one can stop us. I've been hard on Carmelo but he's shown a willingness to pass the ball. He's also been banged up. Still think he fits into a half court offense better.

If if he won't (bc with his talent he can) then I'd trade him for a Danny Granger or Joe Johnson (obviously with other pieces returning to us). My hope is that he will not ruin the flow of the offense (and defense for that matter) which is the most entertaining & effective I've seen from a Knick team.

I have a problem with this Melo buying in thing...We will need Melo's game to thrive in the playoffs...In the playoffs, The style of play changes and it becomes a possession game...

I can see this team easily three-peating by 2014.
