... he should receive a standing ovation. Losing a sibling is too painful for words. MSG should welcome him back with open arms.

If Stoudemire plays Tuesday against Toronto, he will have been away from basketball for nearly a week. That is a long time to NOT be in the gym. Returning to a back-to-back series - as a starter - with his game conditioning in question, is tricky. It is also a recipe for an injury. Amar'es minutes must be carefully monitored. 25 sounds about right.

Amar'e must also be reprogrammed as a defensive compliment to Tyson Chandler ... and a scorer second. If he makes up his mind to NOT impose his offense, cool. If he brings a double double we are straight. No more charges. Box out dude.

No reason to rush Anthony. Rest Carmelo until AFTER the all star break. Target date 29 February vs Cleveland at home.

Hopefully, Josh Harrelson will be ready soon after the break.

Absolutely, I'm a counselor/psychotherapist and the grieving process can take a long, long time- I'm always amazed at how quickly people are usually expected to go back to work- a lot of counselors won't even start counseling with people with bereavment issues until a few months have passed, just to give them time to go through the really raw stuff.

But everyone handles it differently- maybe Amar'e locks in on basketball to take his mind off it. I think Hazel wasn't only a brother to him, but also a parent, so it's going to be really difficult.

Condolences to Amar'e.

And respect to Baron and Melo - who were at the funeral today, along with Glen Grunwald and a bunch of Knicks front offices folks. That's good teammates.

Dressed in gray slacks, a light-blue shirt, gray tie, and wearing sunglasses, Stoudemire, the rock of the Knicks franchise, broke down with tears of love for his big brother Hazell, who died Monday at the age of 35. A nine-man Knicks contingent, which included All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony, owner Jim Dolan, interim general manager Glen Grunwald, assistant GM Allan Houston and teammate Baron Davis, watched from 10 rows away, along with about 1,000 other mourners.

It would have been sweet if the knicks had a game in orlando and then went to Amare after the game. But props to B-diddy, melo and the knicks organization

I'm very glad that nine people from the Knicks players and organization showed up. First of all, condolences to Amare and his family. Second, I'm looking forward to the beginning of the Lin/Stat show.
