All Mohammed does is board.
Doleac boards nearly as well, is a better shotblocker, and is lighyears ahead of Narz on offense. I just don't get it. Mohammed was suppsed to be athletic and quick, but from what I saw you can easily confuse him with Deke out there. Just another stiff, except even more limited then Deke, he can only boad and can't swat a fly.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I don't think we've quite seen what Mohammed is really about. He hasn't been given a role yet. Sometimes Othella comes in as the backup center. Mohammed definitely can board and he can move. He's the kind of guy that can take advantage of the quick passes from Marbury and slam it home. I think ultimately he will work out well. Certainly Doleac gave a great effort on that boards and D, but he really looks better right now because of our obvious lack of shooting. It has really been amplified the last two games. I think in time Nazr is a better long range option than Doleac...its just that we need shooters badly right now.

Doleac (thoug i liked what he did recently) had the same kind of offense as KT. Mid range J, nothing more. Mo is supposed to be a banger, and as we were missing that, should be an upgrade long term.

it would've problaby been better if we were able to trade othella instead of Doleac. I'm still not gonna cry over losing him. I might cry after losing KVH.

i remember seeing naz playing in philly also. he was athletic and remained in the paint. he was a good rebounder and had a lot of energy. thrived from putbacks from iverson's misses. he is slightly undersized as a center so he is a non factor in the west or against illguaskus, which we saw sunday. but he can run the floor which is a big plus. zeke thinks we need big men who are mobile.

Totally agree...Othella should've been dealt instead of Doleac. Othella's skill set/size etc. matches Sweetney's. He's useful, but redundant, and doesn't offer much height up front. I think Doleac's contract was cheaper and fit under the cap better though.

I'm with you on this. That part of the trade doesn't frighten me at all. Doleac would have been lost cause we didn't have his brid rights, so, instead of loosing him for nothing, why not get nazr ?

The thing that everyone has to remember is that Mohammed is supposed to replace Deke not Doleac. We already have a better Doleac in Kurt. You can't really exact to go far with two jump shooters that play the exact game. Deke is slow. He misses easy opportunities. He should be trade bait and definitely will retire after next year.

Zeke is thinking a year or so down the road with Narz. Call Narz the poor man's Theo, but that's exactly what he is. Let him have a Summer and another preseason with Auguire.

He is more athletic and a better defender. Doleac was a good fit, but Doleac is probably a better long term fit.

You do need doleac and KT jump shooting abilites on the team at the same time. Kt plays the pick and roll with Marbury as a starter and Doleac did the pick and roll well with Frank with the second unit on many ocassions.
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

True. I would love to have both on the team, but after next year, who plays D in the middle? That's where Nzar comes in.

Ask one of the gurus on this site like briggs and some others who keep in touch with contract situations.

Nazi's play in the 1st quarter demonstrates that this thread is bull.
