Which guy do you think starts for the Knicks when the playoffs begin and why?

The real question, it seems to me, is once the NBA thoroughly scouts him, and tries to take advantage of his weaknesses, just how good a point guard will Jeremy Lin be?

I can't really answer anything on Baron until we see him actually play, but as for Lin, I think it's very hard for teams to take the PnR away if you do it right. The Knicks actually run sets that have other motion in them before you even get a PnR. This helps to keep the defense honest and then Lin can call for a Pick at anytime and catch the D when it's off guard. Also Lin is tricky. He sets guys up with hesitation moves and bursts of speed when they least expect it. Lin is much more slick and smart about his game than people realize.

I really think by the time the playoffs get here, Lin will be on another level with this team. That's 40 more games and many practice sessions to develop chemistry.

whoever is playing the best and offering the most. Very simple. Lin is certainly the long term fit and choice, but if Baron comes back healthy and kicks ass and outplays Lin then he should get more minutes. If thats the case its a good problem to have.

Baron's made his money. He wants a chip. He's been clear about his desire to win, and also to mentor the younger players at this stage in his career. Lets see what happens.

I don't doubt that opponents will scout Lin thoroughly and start to make him go left more and make an outside shot, but doubling him will be VERY difficult when Amare, Melo come back.

YUP!!! This is why it was so key that we find a PG and why so much hope was placed on Baron coming back. There's no way in the world that a team will be able to guard the entire floor with the spread offense and STAT, Melo and Tyson out there moving around. Teams have to play them straight up with a good passer out on the floor.

Its not a secret what NashLin does, its stopping it. Hit the shot and you can't.

Thats why Nash is so good. You collapse on him, he'll kill you. You double him he pick you.

Was Nash this good in the NBA at 23?

Lets get Davis off the bench and over .500 before we talk Playoffs.

If Jeremy Lin is not a Knicks--my bet is Mike d would be fired we wouldve lost 2 of last 3 and more and who knows if we make playoffs. Jeremy Lin is the future of the Knicks--Baron Davis has a future on realty TV.

There was a short piece on espn last night about Lin and is he for real. They played three clips from the Wizards game

1. Wizards fall victim the the P n R

2. Wizards guard the P n R...Lin hits a wide open Novak in the corner for 3

3. Wizards guard the P n R and the shooter...Lin drives for an open dunk

Prognosis...he is for real

opposing PGs haven't been going under the screener to force Lin to shoot. I don't know wtf Wall was doing gambling for steals out of possession on pnrs.

The question wasn't about if the Knick's make the playoffs.

I personally couldn't visualize Baron Davis at 32, rehabbing from a long injury, playing for a new team, being physically able to surpass the impact that Jeremy Lin currently has provided the Knicks. There is a good chance that the Knick's Jeremy Lin, will end up being an even better acquisition for the Knicks, than Victor Cruz was for the Giants. (Mind boggling for both extremely lucky breaks to occur for two sports franchises based in the same city.)

re-watch the New Jersey highlights.

Deron hedged towards pick and Lin blew by to the rim.

Deron went under pick (twice in one sequence) and Lin hits 17-footer on second go-around.

Great points.

Stockton and Malone made HOF careers on the PnR. Sloan ran it even after they both left. MDA said it the other night. It does not matter what the defense does because something will be open. Lin is a PG who can find what is open and exploit it. Finally.

knowing how hard this kid works, i've a feeling he's working on his jumpers and going left. i can guarantee you he knows his weaknesses. He'll adjust.

Guy self recruited himself to UCLA, Stanford, and Harvard, graduated with an Economics degree from Harvard, makes nerdy hand shakes with Lando and semi-funny youtube clips, and probably loses on purpose to Lando and Tyson Chandler in Monopoly, all the while sleeping on a different couch every week...he'll adjust

one jumper for about 15 drives to the basket. that's not a realistic ratio against an elite defense like Chicago.

All while pulling down $700K. He's living the life, and he's not turning into an instant a-hole, no matter how stupid the question is that the press asks...

Reporter: "What do you think about overshadowing Kobe tonight at the Garden"
[Hi, Jeremy, I'm a jackazz journalist with a sports rag and I get paid to get azzwipe backpage headline quotes, could you do me a favor and say something really stupid that might even rhyme with your name?]
Shao Lin: "Kobe is Kobe..."
[Bad grasshopper, now go to ladies room and do not come back here until you can snatch toilet paper from your own sphincter]

Should be interesting, if not fun watching Derek Fisher trying to cover him tonight.
