Raised on the farm. Determined. Dependable. Most of all, this man communicates the most fundamental elements of team-building.

His game is not the most polished, but who cares?... "the Knicks... are 5-1 when he scores 17 points or more. In a league with fewer big men dominating the way they used to (Dwight Howard and Andrew Bynum being exceptions), the Knicks are poised to help (dis guy), one of the game’s best defensive centers, elevate the other side of his game.

... this guy shows up and leaves every ounce of energy on the court. He says something important...

“I feel like guys are going to have to step up and play roles that they are not necessarily used to.”

"This big man is shooting nearly 71 percent from the field and... has begun to reap the benefits of playing with a pass-first point guard, finishing electrifying alley-oops from Lin for easy buckets again and again. (quotes adapted from NYT piece by Keith Schlosser) "Lin will be wise to develop a two-man game with him to keep defenders guessing."

Did I mention he is the only one with a ring?

When he wasn't injured or pissing off Dolan for skipping team functions, Camby was a huge piece of the NBA Finals run. When he dunked over Dikembe Mutombo in Atlanta, The Answer Man nearly lost it.

I miss Antonio McDyess.

Camby gave the business to the customers, but he didn't have Tyson's swag.

There were some that doubted the significance of the Tyson trade, but I think almost everyone was talking about our need for a true C for a long time. What sold me even more was when he guarded Howard and was VERY effective guarding him. We usually got killed by Howard. Of course or perimeter D sucked and we lost, but our interior D wasn't the problem.

He's vocal and plays with passion. He anchors the defense and really help us slow teams down. With Lin setting him up his value goes up even more. Remember all those games with TD simply missing Tyson wide open? We may not have our top offensive options, but our top Defensive options are all playing now and they look better. Tyson and Jared is a nice combo defensively.

Excellent points nix. Know what the scary part is... imagine Tyson with an enforcer-type defensive power forward with average skills on offense.

Now, use your best imagination and slide in a skill forward with superior passing ability (to compliment the influence of Lin/tbd) and a respectable range on his shot. This guy cannot be a punk on defense. Think a reasonable facsimile/ slight upgrade of Trevor Ariza.

Do we have too much talent?

Or too much ego?

From the other thread.

I think Tyson brings certain things that I value much higher than the only thing Dwight has over him. Tyson brings leadership, accountability and the mindset to win. Dwight brings offensive production much better than Tyson but not as good as Tyson - STAT. I really don't see any reason to trade both of theM for Dwight. Dwight Howard has shown signs of being mentally soft and seems to cry for help when things go badly. I would much rather have someone like Chandler who says " I refuse to have a losing season".

DH has the advantage of having been healthy and injury free. So that needs to be considered as well.

TC is definitely THE leader on this team, people have to respect the swag he has on his ring finger.

As usual Misterearl, your observations and suggestion of TC as captain is spot on.
Chandler typifies the true character of this team and he should wear the "C."

As the founding father and exalted ruler of the JEREMY LIN fan club on 12/27/2011, I hereby decree the honorary title of HIGH POOBAH District Deputy Grand Master of the Jeremy Lin fan club upon you.

Revisit that thread, brother. We were right on the money about Lin.
I hope that he can keep it up.

The Hat Trick

KBC - thank you for the kind words, but I must humbly decline the honorary title as HIGH PooBAH District Deputy Grand Master of the Jeremy Lin Fan club. My ongoing duties as the Interim Campaign Manager for the China Recall Campaign For The Mayor Formerly Known as Wilson Chandler have consumed my day planner, iPhone and eMail accounts.

Landry Fields is taking it stronger to the rack.

Is Jeremy Lin fun or what?

If there is one player who can enforce the new TEAM by-laws it is Tyson Chandler. Not D'Antoni. This is an issue the players must resolve for themselves. The cool part is that Chandler and Lin have bonded.

If Amar'e drops the offensive foul from his repertoire, and is patient, floor spacing will not be an issue. This is NOT like playing with Nash to the degree he is not always the end of the play. He is NOT playing center, which in his mind, translates to the last point before the shot. He is a forward in this rotation. His job is to keep his head up like everyone else, and make the extra pass more often.

Carmelo can play 25 minutes and be effective. Yup, 25. There is no reason to shoot into a double team. There is no such thing as a closer anymore.

If anything Tyson Chandler is the closer because he makes his free throws.
