I believe that Lin will be our restricted FA at the end of this year.

They need to if possible. Are they allowed to use part of their 2.5 mil exception this year to do something like that?

FUN in The Garden

For what Lin has done so far, you Amnesty Bibby, renounce Douglas, add in the $2.5 exemption and garnish some bucks from Carmelo's check.

"Yo, are those Lin jerseys printed yet?"

you can't amnesty bibby since you can only amnesty a player from the old labor agreement. Also we used ours already on billups

So proud to see Lin doing this in a Knicks Uni...hopefully management does him right at the end of the season. If he maintains this play consistently (obviously not 20+ pts/gm), they probably should give the $$ they were going to give to Nash to Lin to lock him up the next 4 or 5 years.

Lin is due to make $762,195.00 this year and I would guess that we can make a qualifying offer to him at the end of the year.

i agree - make lin an offer for next season ASAP.

he gets a little security based off two games, knicks get a young point guard who at worst is a capable backup for years to come and best case can be something more.

We're already over the cap and so it's not like we have some reserve money we're holding. So long as we have Lin's rights we can resign him like any player we have. I believe we will have the ability to make a qualifying offer and if that's the case we can match any offer made for him. I don't believe that effects our use of the MLE.

Did anyone see Dolan sitting front row? On the replay of the three Lin hit as the clock expired you could see him with an evil Mr. Burns like smirk as the crowd went wild.

Lin - re-sign this beast!

i'm pretty sure Lin will be here as long as D'Antoni is at this point. In all seriousness.

you saw with his impassioned defense of jeffries tonight in the post-game, when MDA finds a guy he likes, he keeps him.

+1!

His contract isn't even guaranteed yet!

Too bad this isn't like baseball where you could sign him long term and cheap now.

So when can we extend Lin?
