How big of a story (Movie material) "could" it be if an undrafted, Harvard grad, Asian point guard rescues the annually putrid knicks?

John Starks came out of nowhere and almost (helped) bring us a championship.

Would love if Lin can be such a difference maker and the press will just go crazy.

He seems to have big game qualites in him. We can only dream

I thought of this during the game but didn't post it because you don't want be taken as saying he is as good as Starks. That isn't the case here. But what I see is a young player who was told since high school that he can't and then he led his team to a 32-1 record and a championship. Then one Player of the year in Cali and wasn't offered a scholarship to Div 1 - First time in history. Then he single handedly helps to turn around Harvards program. Then against the best players he generally outplayed them - See Kemba Walker. This continues till now in general (not outplaying players but the saying he can't).

Well, when the crowd was chanting his name and his teamates were flabbergasted that he kept driving, scoring, dishing and holding a clear advantage over a top 2 PG in the league - I thought "This affect is like when Starks came out of no where."

So yes, Lin, so far, is our new John Starks. And they don't come along very often so I hope he continues. It makes it all the more special and I'm glad I got to witness what might be his pivitol game as a pro. He now has the fans and his teammates behind him.

Yeah - Landry really has his back and is going crazy on the bench - Landry is a good dude - the type you really root for. They probably click because they both have huge brains.

I believe there was a thread for Lin during summer League 2010, when he totally dominated John Wall (#1 draft pick that year). A lot of us wanted him then. Surprising he didn't get much of a chance last year and then was waived this year which allowed us to pick him up.

The Lin and Landry Show

Well stated. Landry Fields brings a versatile game where he does more than just score. Same with Lin. Brains in the backcourt.

The model is NOT the beloved and impulsive John Starks, who was more a shooting guard. No head butts please. The better comparison is a player who does NOT have superior athletic gifts nor is able to out muscle his matchup. This guy does it with understanding the angles and using quick reaction to set up OTHER guys. He is not lightning fast but he maintains his dribble and keeps his head up. If you are not paying attention, he will casually cross you over. Lin was studying film of this guy.

Steve Nash.

Lots of dewy eyed Lin love here folks. I really too want him to be the kid that ends up being a difference maker. Heck with being cautiously optimistic. I am all in and I want this kid to meet and beat the competition consistently across the board. About time Knick fans had something to cheer for.

While many said John Wall has the talent to be better than Rose, I think there might be signs that he doesn't have the mental toughness to fight through adversity.

Lin appears to go out and just do his thing. Steady, executes the plays he's supposed to. Unflappable, that is, unless Isiah Thomas (of the Kings) is on him.

I am real happy I stayed up late to witness that game, that special moment, really, it was that.

I knew that Lin would get to play for a couple of reasons. He played well last game and the coach didn't put him back in in the second half and we lost - that was on Coach's mind I'm sure. And second, it was the last night of a back to back to back schedule so I was hoping he would get some minutes to back up tired guys. Third, and no offense to Douglas, but he sort of has been sucking. In a way we owe it to Dougie as without his play Lin might not have gotten this oppty. Maybe now Douglas emulates him driving (he started that last night) and adapts his game.

I'm still enjoying this game and looking forward to how we will turn things around. Great time Lin - just as Stat has started to pick his game up. Hopefully Melo does as well.

This was just the nets, but with Lin - and I think why some of us wanted to see him play- and MDA's system, this could be a player that turns into a player of Nash's caliber.

Just Nets, who just happen to have the second best PG in the league. Lin had Deron's number at least that's the impression I got from that very well made video.

Bullsh#t, it was just Deron freakin' Williams that Jeremy Lin gave the business to.

franco12 - did you even watch the game?
