to winning these games... a little more patience. There's a lot of time and games to get this going the right way.

agreed. I really think taking Douglas out of the rotation will tip the scale into winning... Give JLin a shot

Basically we will be shooting for the 8th seed tops now which would likely result in a first round exit. We would have to win at a pretty incredible rate to get a 6th seed or better which would steer us away from Miami or Chicago.

Sounds exciting. I'm glad we didn't do serious rebuilding.
Why is it so hard for people to admit that our team is illogically constructed?

Getting JR Smith and Jorts back will make us a great team.

The spacing will improve dramatically, and so will our depth. No more burning out starters with 40 minutes a night. I don't care if JR comes off the bench or starts, so long as he's getting 36 minutes a night and closing out games with the starting unit. That puts an ELITE shooter on the floor 75% of the game.

And tonight is the real test. We often play good teams very well, I've been fooled before here. We MUST take care of Jersey easily tonight. I don't want to hear about back to back to back games. Just take care of business.

If we get JR Smith, I think we will be much much better and as airchibundo said, Jorts is going to help a lot as well. I love that guy - he brings it. He is like Chandler in his mentality. And he creates nice spacing.

We have serious chemistry problems which did start after the Melo trade for sure.

This game is very important against the Nets. It's a tough one cuz you just don't know how they'll play on the 3rd night after 2 hard fought games against good teams. I just hope they have enough to get past the Nets and not mail it in. It's likely to be a very sloppy game. They've gotta gut it out. That's what makes the close losses even tougher to take. You have no margin for error or the occasional bad game. They literally can't have any bad games now even when they're dog tired.

Other teams will have losing streaks during the season, it is not a given that everyone will keep winning at the current pace. Especially as the season goes on and gets tougher - the wear and tear will take some teams out.

I am not worried about making the playoffs as the #8 or #6 - we have bigger issues. I think we can get in if the team keeps working at it but the back court is a HUGE issue and we need Baron to be the real deal (something I don't think he is ready for).

good win... Knicks got closer and played better against two good tgeams until beating the Nets. The work is working and paying off. The wins will start to come.

Yup, possibly adding JR Smith and getting back Jorts, along with Baron should also help alot

Lets be honest this team minus Lin(over TD) would not have won this game. As evident by the 1st quarter. Moral Victories mean nothing. Denver was suppose to be a moral victory and we lost to Cleveland and Houston without Kmart. You only win when you maximize the talents on your roster

Why is it so hard for people to admit that our team is illogically constructed?

I've been thinking about this- yes I agree that our main players don't really fit together well, but if you go back to the 90s, when we signed Alan Houston, Childs and traded fro Larry Johnson- that team didn't really fit together well- LJ really struggled to play with Ewing offensively (which is why he dedicated himself to defense), and Childs was an up tempo point guard who wasn't suited really to Ewing and the half court game. When we got Camby and Sprewell, again that team wasn't really a great fit of complimenting pieces- Houston and Sprewell were both SG, Ewing and Ward were really best in the half court, while the rest of the team were better running.

I guess what i'm saying is that maybe a team can be successful even if the main players don't really fit together- the key is what adjustments the players and coach make to make it work.

This Utah game on Monday is the probably biggest game of the season. If we win against a good team, it will prove that this team has definitely turned the corner.

Those teams were not great fits on offense and consequently our team offense was OK but not great. They made up for it with outstanding defense though. Amare and Melo won't do that.
