I dont see any game changer here ..... I dont think one player can change knicks future .... neither a new coach ..... so I am pessimistic .... so pessimistic as to not even hope for playoffs.....

I see this season as if already finished ...... really bad sentiments ...... arent they ?

Back away from the ledge. Here's some food for thought. The last 3 games this team has performed at a similarly higher level than they did previously. There are good signs even in the last 2 close losses. They didn't get embarrassed in either the Bulls or Celtics games. This is with the same flawed roster lacking depth. There's a ray of hope.

The Answer Man Keeps Hope Alive

A. Your sentiments are not bad. Managing your frustration level will help you live longer. Looking at the remaining schedule - and with six months of patience... Here are five things to hope for.

1. Somehow, someway avoiding any hint of tension among the big three - and any hint mutiny among the other nine. Any fraying of esprit de corps will be pounced on like a german sheppard going after a raw steak filet.

2. JR Smith likes New York. Has it come down to hoping for the talented and knuckheadish JR Smith? Sheesh.

3. After a made basket, the silly MSG public address call of "Carrrmellooooo ANNNNN-tho-NEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" is replaced with John Condon's more understated call, "that was Carmelo Anthony" so we can AT LEAST s o u n d like a team again.

4. The trade deadline comes and goes without any more changes. Yeah, I said it. Enough with revamping the roster until Summer League is over. International scouts - earn your paychecks. Either Glen Grunwald is made permanent or a GM with a juice card is hired.

5. Either Iman Shumpert and/or Jeremy Lin can play through their rookie wall so we have at least ONE yoot to feel good about during April.

It's really not so bad. The worst case scenario is that you lose all interst in the Knicks and the NBA altogether. Then you've got 2-3 hours 3-4 nights a week to pursue other interests.

The team is one win out of 8th in the East- few losses so the bucks do have games in hand.

This team can turn it around- but we need Jeremy Lin to be the catalyst. He is the PG MDA has been looking for. Good thing we had him on our squad.

Look - the team has the talent to win some games, even against tougher opponents- though have we seen that happen yet?

If we miss the play offs, we have to hope to win the lotto, and get a top 3 pick.

Now- at some point, my hope is going to turn around from 8th seed to top 5 pick.

When the season is left to the great JR to rise like the sun from the East to save our season it spells for pretty desperate times.

Whats left?

The building of chemistry. This team has very good talent and a coach known being an offensive juggernaut.

The progress of Lin and Lando and the reminder that youth can be served!

Melo is fighting thru injury but also fighting being a bone head diva. He is struggling to find the balance of being scoring machine that earned him the adoration of Dolan and a max contract and that of being a well rounded superstar. This kid had great passing skills, can rebound, and can play above average defense. Maybe this takes more than one season.

What I know is Players in the league respect MDA and have been quoted as saying they want to play for him. And they do in the olympics.

This team is not giving up on its coach, its struggling to work his system. I see melo trying to work in the system.

As long as the players are trying, he stays.

Perhaps even more you extend him and give the team and its staff the longer range goals. Develop Lin, develop the rhythm and stop the madness that is MSG.

If you don't, you better have Phil Jax in your back pocket ready to go.

This team needs a stable force and a culture.

Post Of The Day Worthy of It's Own Thread

One small correcttion, we are not a team yet but showing signs.

This "franchise" needs a stable force and a culture.

Is Glen Grunwald still listed as Interim?

I miss Donnie Walsh.
