Pretty much what I and many others have been saying about this switch-on-every-pick defense. Seriously, this entire coaching staff might need to be liquidated.

I don't think the plan is to switch on every play. The problem is that players are not getting around screens fast enough and melo and Amare are not even trying. So the players panic and switch.

The Knicks D is not the problem. They did a great job tonight and got many stops late in the game. The last thing that needs to be talked about is the Knicks D.

I'll take my chances with Woodson coaching the team for the remainder of the season, predictable or not. This Bum D'Antoni needs to be FIRED. YESTERDAY.
Another season, and more adversity to persevere through. We will get the job done, even BETTER than last year. GO KNICKS!

Defense is suspect....
Offense is suspect....

You just don't understand, do you?

Tell me how this defense is good, and ill give you numbers that prove otherwise.

But only if you promise not to mention defensive efficiency, as that is a bogus stat. Similar to the pace stats you used to give us.

Saying that the defense is not the problem is not the same as saying that the defense is good.

Our defense is the LEAST of our problems is what I said. Our offense is horrid. 24th in FG%, 24th in 3pt%, 24th in asts and 14th in PPG. Now all of this despite having the 2nd fastest pace in the league.

RK TEAM PACE	AST	TO	ORR	DRR	REBR	EFF FG% TS%	OFF EFF DEF EFF
1 Denver 98.0 16.1 26.1 23.6 74.8 50.5 52.3 56.7 105.5 99.1
2 New York 96.4 13.1 27.1 24.6 76.0 49.4 46.7 51.8 97.1 97.8

We're 27th in the number of our possessions that end up in a turnover. That's ridiculous!!! This has us at only 80 FGA's a game. Which is 20th in the league, despite having the 2n fastest pace. We're 25th in FG's Made despite our pace. Too many wasted possessions.

A FG% stat for the opposing team doesn't tell the whole story, cuz it's not saying how many times we stop them from even taking a shot.

We're a top ten team in terms of Free Throw attempts and shoot 78% on those. This one of the few good offensive stats we have.

The defense has been inconsistent along with the offense, but it's been the LEAST of our problems. This Team still isn't doing a great job with opponents FG% particularly from 3pt range. Still it's our lack of efficient offense that is killing us.

We should be playing more like the Nuggets as we did last year. They were #1 in scoring last year and we were #2.
They play fast, in fact faster than we do. They just don't have as many wasted possessions as we do. Just look at the Nuggets offensive efficiency, that's how we used to look.

Our problem isn't so much that we aren't the best defensive team in the league, which how could it be with the roster we have, our problem is that we have such an inconsistent and often dis-functional offense, which is how this team is built. The team isn't built to be a defensive juggernaut. This team was put together with 2 offensive minded stars, never known to be great defenders. This team is supposed to be a top offensive team.

The idea isn't to shut teams down all game, but to get timely stops and play an efficient brand of offense. That said the defense is much improved over previous years. What often kills this team is the offensive turnovers more than just bad defense. Teams are getting over with scoring off our turnovers or we just fail to score enough period due to wasted possessions.
