his best position would probably be PF as a rotation player 9th man at his age now.
While he still can be used at times, he hes become a big tweener at the Forward position, unlike his G/F days.
If Lakers can get under the cap, without adding more salaries with trades this year.
With Bynum possibly opting out and with a possible trade, its a realistic option to amnesty him with 3 years left or Walton with 1 more season left, during the off season.
It is unlikely they probably won't get any value for him at this point of his career, without taking a bad contract.
his production does not match his salary, with his production closer to veteran minimum's production...
He is strong and he is wide but his speed/quickness and inability to create his own shot or for others consistently, makes it hard for him to find a consistent role.
Sadly he can probably be used on the Knick's with his ability to post up, stretch the floor, and play defense, with JJ's role here occasionally at Center and PF when match ups permit.
But with Bynum and Gasol getting the majority of the minutes, he doesn't have the room to operate and he doesn't have the speed/quickness and skills to play the SF.
With
McRoberts
Murphy
both having a better suited games to fit the bench at PF/C
Barnes
Goudelock
Kapono
Ebanks
being better options at SF/G, its hard to find time to fit a role for the Lakers.
