TC is by far the most consistent Knick on the roster and lives up to his contract, especially compared to Melo's and Amare's contracts.
Problem is he doesn't fit with well with Amare's offensive game or Dantoni's philosophy.
He doesn't like to take anything but high % shots and limit's himself it, even though he can shoot the 12 footer, shown in his FT shot.
He likes to concentrate on defense but we are struggling offensively now especially taking the driving lanes and not being a threat outside the paint.
Amare doesn't have a post game, like TC, but TC's job is to anchor the DEF.
But Amare is suppose to be the offensive player and should be able to focus on the offense with some DEF as TC's wing man.
Problem is Amare started to season without his legs and is primary skill is the DUNK.
Like TC, he tries to get in the paint, without a good handle, he wants to get the high % with points in the paint, but forces action without the room he once had at Center.
Without that room and advantage he has at Center, he doesn't square himself up for the shot, and isn't a good shooter when he has doesn't square up, especially when shooting off the dribble. He doesn't have a stretch 4, that can hold his own at the PF position, while being a good % 3point shooter, with consistent penetration, and shooters to spread the floor, consistently get a good look at 3pointer, while being capable to drive past their own man 1v1 if the shot is half ass defended.
Players like Shawne Williams, Ryan Anderson, Al Harrington, and many others, would compliment Amare much more when he comes back with the 2nd unit.
Our players are trying and are giving effort, especially TC, but they just don't mesh. JJ is not very skilled and is a good help defender but not scoring threat or 1v1 defender, like Amare. It can be seen as an excuse or part of the reasons we are struggling...
