Source: Sixers Inquired About Amar'e Stoudemire
Jan 29, 2012 11:39 AM EST

According to a league source, the Sixers have inquired about Amar’e Stoudemire, though it was categorized as “due diligence.”

Nothing is said to be imminent or even in the early stages other than just talk, the source said.

Nevertheless, in past seasons the Sixers were reportedly discussing trade scenarios with the Phoenix Suns in order to acquire Stoudemire.

Say no to drugs.

the 76ers do NOT covet Toney Douglas and they CERTAINLY are NOT thinking about giving up a first round pick in this economy.

Get real.

if people think amar'e is done, wait'll they get a load of brand. (but obviously any deal would include brand coming back here, so don't even think of trying to construct a deal without brand involved.)

only way i'd do that deal is if the sixers gave the knicks brand, thadeus young and lou williams. thaddeus young could be a wilson type here. (or maybe we could trade him to denver and get our wilson back)

anyone who thinks the sixers would give up jrue holiday is nutso. i was so pissed we drafted jordan hill instead of jrue the destroyer. i know ppl liked jennings, but i was a big jrue fan and i still think he's a better winning-type player.

Brand's more efficient on offense, blocks a lot of shots, and is owed about $50 mil less than Amare.

What? Even his former team wouldn't give him a long-term deal because of his knees. The only people not worried about his knees are the people who thought we had a .700 team.

I think a trade would be more like Brand and Lou Williams. Holiday seems like he should be untouchable.

If a trade/pickup is gonna be made then it should be a smaller one for a PG. Tinsley, Sessions, Andre Miller are ones that have been mentioned here that would be nice.

I prefer Brand at this point because he has a post game that doesn't depend on his athleticism. He rebounds and is a better defender but We need value in return. Even turner or T.Y and one of their Point guards Lou or Holiday. If not I'd rather keep stat and wait for other offers or see how serious ORL is about that Chandler and Stat deal.

U do know that Brand is posting Landry Fields type numbers of 10 and 6.7 right?

Yeah I know but We are talking about getting back a couple of players along with him. Lord knows we could use the depth.

big advantage of taking brand back is that he defends... and he comes off the cap in two years. that's pretty much it. you better get back a thaddeus young type and more if you trade amar'e.

So the 6 year rebuilding plan to get under the cap to get a player like Amare...hmmmm..

What's your evidence for that?

Seriously? Where's your evidence for your assertion? Oh I get it--you two disagree so he needs to provide you empirical evidence!
