we have to secure a bottom 2 record in the league so we are guaranteed at worst the 5th pick in the first round.

i'd go as far as to make this trade to help build us up for the future as well:

NYK trades: Melo, Iman & Balkman

WAS trades: Wall, Lewis & 1st Rd Pick

between our pick and the Wizards pick, we'd have 2 solid first rounders (one top 5, one lottery). our roster would be more balanced as well:

PG: Wall
SG: Fields
SF: Lewis
PF: Amare
C: Chandler

6: Knicks Top 5 Pick
7: Wizards Lottery Pick
8: Davis
9: Jorts

10: Jordan
11: Lin
12: Walker
13: Novak
14: Douglas
15: Jeffries

3 way trade - Trade Amare to contender, take back Kaman's expiring contract, young players/picks, sign Deron in the offseason.

Time to shuffle the deck.

If we get a coach that actually runs set plays we will be better off. Iman can play PG if we get Phil Jackson.

- Trade Amare and Chandler for Dwight and Filler.
- sign Kenyon Martin or JR Smith depending on what we get back from Orlando

I don't like that trade, not a Wall fan, he won't make Amar'e and Tyson better.

I think we have to aknowlege that we're not gonna get anything good from Amar'es contract. We need to move Melo and try to Maximize Amar'es effectiveness.

Its true. i think melo has lost a lot of trade value. I mean the only team that would give a ****load of talent for melo is us obviously and looked what happened to denver and looked whta happened to us. Tha same thing happened in the Marbury trade. Dolan should have listened to donnie walsh by letting us hold on to those guys and if melo wanted to be here so bad he could have been in FA although i wish the nets would have just traded for him after all

we're 3.5 games out of the bottom two. and 1.5 out of the 8th seed.

the season is clearly not over, but i'm hard-pressed to feel optimistic right now.

I think there's no way you even think about tanking in a season like this. Only the teams that have been together for a while are running away with it. There will be a chance to get hot and make the playoffs.

Knicks have the perfect coach in place to tank. There is no way this group runs his offense it wasn't built to. If you want to make a run at the playoffs you switch coaches.
