Amar'e and Carmelo are probably more frustrated than their public expressions reveal. Imagine Stoudemire - an All Star - adored as "MVP" last season, being ignored and out-hoisted by Toney Douglas. Toney Douglas.

Now, you are Carmelo Anthony. You GOT the deal you wanted in the PLACE you wanted and now you are the part of the problem, not part of the solution. Whatever the solution is - you need to figure it out before the native New Yorkers grow more restless. The time out is as much mental as it is physical. Get well soon.

The following list (thank you DJMUSIC) is important, not simply for depth, but for MATCHUPS. Unless there is a lead guard walking the street who can DOMINATE any of these people on the list, the position will continue to be a problem. We GET hoodwinked. We get took. (literally)

76ers - Meeks
Celts - Rondo
Nets - Williams
Magic - Nelson
Heat - Chalmers

Hawks - Teague
Bobcats- Augustin
Wiz - Wall
Bulls - Rose
Pacers - Collison
Cavs - Irving
Bucks - Jennings
Pistons- Knight

Spurs - Parker
Griz - Conley
Mavs - Kidd
Rockets- Lowry
Hornets- Jack
OKC -Westbrook
Nuggets-Lawson

Jazz -Harris
Blazers-Felton
Wolves -Rubio/Ridnour
Clippers-Paul
Lakers -Fisher
Suns -Nash
Kings -Evans
Warriors-Ellis

The best thing Baron brings is the R E S P E C T of playoffs performance. To have three veterans fall in line behind a inexperienced guard is asking too much, yes?

One more thing. Waiting on Baron Davis is NOT a solution.

I agree with both points. From the sounds of things, BD is no where near ready- rushing him out in the next week or so would be madness- he really needs 3 or 4 weeks before he starts playing. The problem is if we continue at this rate, that would be too late:

The team is now 5 games under .500 and for those who think Baron Davis is close to returning, stop reading speculation from other outlets. I hear he’s not even close to being ready and despite those around the team guessing for his return, I hear it may be after the All-Star break.

The thing is- what the heck is the solution? We don't really have anything to trade, there are no good FA point guards- why didn't we make a quicker move before the season for even a past it PG like Jamal Tinsley or TJ Ford.

The State Of The Knicks Speeches

“Toney’s been playing the point guard better than Shump," D’Antoni said before the game. That says it all. Say WHAT?

“I refuse to have a losing season," Chandler said. “We have to do what it takes. I refuse to go through a losing season. We got to man up.’

“We got to start reading the board before games," Stoudemire said. “We have to prepare ourselves better as individuals. Coaches give the game plan. We have to be ready to execute the game plan. If we’re not ready to execute the game plan, we’re not helping our teammates. We have to learn to comprehend and learn from our mistakes and right now we’re not doing that."

In twenty minutes Jeremy LIN led the Knicks with 6 assists. No juice card, but LIN sees the floor and is not afraid to penetrate.

Rotation Players

LIN (would have 10 assists a night with Chandler), Shumpert (fierce competitor), Fields (steady if not spectacular), Chandler (see LIN), Stoudemire, Jordan (in emergency), Jeffries (at least he tries), Anthony, Novak (at the two), Balkman (see Jeffries)

Players that should never, EVER see the light of day on the court.

Douglas (horrible shot selection and horrible shooting results are a bad combination), Walker (the three is poison and that is all he brings), Bibby (see Walker and add sluggish defense)

Yes, I think reading this board before the game would be a good idea.

LOL! I'm still not sure what "board" he's referring to though.

BasketballJones - Respecting your technique with the 33-33 prediction would also be a good idea. Predictions may be for entertainment purposes only (as opposed to chest beating) but your optimistically visionary take reminds us the games are not played on paper - or in a vacuum.

Sometimes, Cohesion Requires Years

As fans, we WANT our guys to be successful that we the forget - the inconvenient truth - that our guys are NOT so much better than the other guys. The difference between winning and losing is a tipped pass, one offensive rebound and just one guy who can dribble with his head up to make one extra pass.

Which brings us back to the Juice Card and confidence, which for our beloved Knicks - is shot.

In the pros, once a weakness is exposed it is exploited. Our guards are a liability and everyone knows it. There are NO wet fantasy deals to correct that weakness because NO FRANCHISE is in business to help their competition. No team deals away talent without expecting BETTER talent in return.

Add the heightened expectations of December. Playoffs? The MSG crowd is less forgiving at any point in recent memory. Feeling compelled to earn their "star" bucks, the high-paid guys start to press. The patience and forgiveness for any mistakes made by our former yoots is now a chorus of boos for the (cough) "stars" when things go wrong. It may not be pretty.

Did someone just say two more weeks (maybe) on Baron Davis?

Mr. Davis KNOWS he is no savior and will be careful about when he steps into the fight. He has a legacy to think about.

The solution? They just gotta slug it out, take their lumps, hear it from the crowd and hope they have enough professional pride to work through it. Perhaps we can be reasonable facsimile of a team by early March.

I think you need to at least explore the value of Fields in the market. You need to do whatever it takes right now to get a point guard. I know nobody else has value so no use seeing what value Douglass or anybody else can get.

If not the trade market, dig deep in the NBDL. If right now Lin can do a better job at penetrating and dishing than any other player we have, then there has to be a guy out there that can make this team look decent.

Waive Bibby and sign someone from D League. If management has any hope of recovering this season, they need to act now.

It feels like the rest of the league is working together to deny us a point guard.

The rest of the league has scouts with binoculars.

From ESPN Weekend Dime:

Western Conference scout on whether the Knicks are “fixable”: “The reality is they have a terrible mix of players …
but the dynamic of their point guard situation has made it so much worse.”

Ouch.

I just hope that people will like me
