a good game to break the losing streak. cleveland has to be one of the most turnover prone teams in the league, so I hope this team finally generates some easy fastbreak buckets

I hope he comes out with alot of energy and shows us his back is close to 100%. We should defeinetly limit his minutes at first so he can get his legs under him.

20 minutes is all he needs. He should probably come off the bench but end the game with the starting unit.

Does it really matter how we think of him? If Baron is healthy he can help. He'll be rusty and will need time to get his game back, but over time he can help this team to get a proper balance. He doesn't have to WALK ON WATER, to help this team. I'm pretty sure he hasn't lost his dribble and his back hasn't effected his eyes. So long as he can see the floor and make the pass he can help. He's got 3/4 of the season left to get it going.

you know...after signing Chandler the Knicks had 2 more needs to fill....veteran point guard - Davis/Bibby, check...someone who can knock down 3's and spread the floor - extra E, not check - Crawful, not check. Can't we just be happy we will have a real floor general soon?

until we get ourselves a legitimate 3 pt scorer, this team is going to have ups and downs, but having a legitimate PG is a big step in the right direction

........and with that, I'm going back into stealth mode.....be well!

Novak can shoot, but MDA hasn't had enough stability to even consider using him. He doesn't do much else, so you have to have all your other spots humming to make it work with him in there. The entire thing is really about the PG spot. Fixing that one position puts everyone else in their spot and smooths out the flow of the offense. That helps shooters relax and take better shots. That in turn leads to meaningful possessions and less easy buckets for the other team, which helps the defense. It really does revolve around that one position that much.

You really need a strong post presence that will command double teams to enable a guy like Novak to be a value added contributor. He cannot create his own shot or like you put it "do much else"

To be honest that can't be further from the truth. MDA has had bigtime 3pt shooting as part of his offense without a post player for years. It's about breaking down the defense and forcing them to leave the perimeter open. That is what happens when this offense is run properly, which it hasn't been so far this year. There's a reason this team was able to shoot 3's last year at a much better clip than this year and it has to do with the PG not being able to run the offense.

But not with a player like Novak who can't do anything else. Obviously a PG who can break down the D would help too.
