Last night:

SAC over Spurs

PHO over Boston

ORL (shooting lots of 3s like they did against Knicks) beat Lakers.

Ugly ugly season. And I want to say this is occurring on an almost nightly basis.

Twolves over LAC (perhaps not too much of a surprise?)

I think the Knicks still have some time to get it together but I have a few concerns:
1) Is the losing and ugly play setting in to the mindset of the players tithe point where they can't snap out of it?
2) It seems like the franchise and fan base have pinned all of their hopes on BDiddy coming back 100% healthy and playing like he did a couple years ago - I wonder if we are being set up for disappointment here. I hope he can do it but I have my doubts.
3) Is Amare really on the decline, just in a funk, still recovering from his back injury, not meshing with Melo, or just needing a solid PG who can distribute? I hope it's just the PG but again, I have my doubts. If he is already on the decline then we are in deep trouble.
4) Has MDA already given up and is having Woodson on the staff a problem? MDA is a total professional so I doubt he has given up but this has to be hard to stomach. Woodson I have no clue about so I can't judge.

This team is in trouble, we all know that. Fortunately these are things that can be overcome but we will need to start winning soon before we get stuck in a Marbury type situation where the fans hate the stars because they can't carry the team.

Ugh.

i knew that this team wasnt going to come out blazing and will struggle in the beginning. i remembered the same thing in 99 when our team struggled mightly for the first two months and i think at one point was the tenth seed in the east before bouncing back! they had really bad losses against bad teams. mark cuban was on espn the other night and he said that the real cream will rise to the top after the all star break. teams with changes and veterans will struggle while the more athletic teams with little to no changes( philly/ denver?) will come out of the gate blazing. the balance will come, though it is BAD right now. like i said before, give dantoni until all star break when davis has a few weeks under his belt and the team gets settled.

When Davis is cleard, its going to be another adjustment period. An adjustment that our impatient fan-base will not allow. I think the fans want instant success whne Davis is injected into the lineup but thats not a reality.

we are also bringing out the best of players and team when we play against them.
Some of it can be pointed out to our defense but a lot of it is because they are just love the beat the Knicks.
We have so many fans over the U.S., media always on us, and always getting so much highlights, players/teams do not take us lightly.
Over the years of losing, especially during the Isiah era, the teams/players have gained confidence vs us and enjoyed making us one of the beat around teams.
They learned how to use the fans, home court, and media to our disadvantage.

The fans want "instant success" because our team was blown up for a "Superstar".

Show me a "Superstar" in this league that isn't winning a good percentage of their games?

Depends on the time-table. How long are we talking? 15 games? 4 months? A complete season? What?!

What is frightening is that we have had one of the easisest schedules in the league. I mean boston was missing their best player, LA was missing bynum and we got killed, the warriors were missing their best player and we got killed. We did beat philly but they were not rested and missing their center. Except for orlando and Thunder we had a great oppurtunity to get some very winnable games and that didn't happen. Wait until we play the real good teams that should be fun

Four months is good.

I realize that this is dangerous territory and we will fall on the distinction between a Star and a Superstar, but let's just call him a Superstar for now and compare other teams with Superstars, and how they are doing over some four month stretch.

My point is that for someone that was deemed worthy of blowing up a functional if not exceptional team for, the problems we are experiencing now should not exist, point guard or not.

P.S. Knowledgeable fans know that you need to put the right pieces around that superstar to suceed. All the pieces aren't here yet. It takes more than 4 months to build a contender. But for some reason, the so-called most knowledgeable fans in the country always seem to ignore this fact.

Can't keep making excuses. Im as big a fan as anyone but so far it hasn't worked out and that has nothing to do with "knowledge" its a fact right now. Hope they turn it around but right now we lost chemistry, depth, and youth for that trade
