This team is making me sick, so I say gut the team for Howard & D. Williams and draft picks..here's how:

Trade Amare, Chandler, (maybe even include Shumpert if we have to) to get Dwight Howard.

Once we get Howard, D. Williams will not re-sign with the Nets. Nets moving to Brooklyn will need a star player and Melo could be that guy. So we would trade them Melo for D. Williams & their 1st round picks.

Nets will not get a better player than Melo in return for D. Williams but since Melo is signed & D. Williams is not, we get their draft picks.

Knicks build their team around D. Howard, D. Williams & those draft picks.

If Shumpert weren't included, I'd probably go for this.

I'd do that deal but realistically we are not blowing the team up until Summer 2012 if ever.

The key is getting Dwight Howard...he's the best player out of everyone. Melo is becoming very hard to root for and would rather have D. Williams than him.

The Knicks would have 2 max players (who actually compliment each other) and have enough money for good role players and draft picks in a very strong draft.

It all starts with Dwight Howard, even if we have to include Shumpert.

This is a no-brainer for all teams involved.

so we make these trades and MDA gets another season with all new players and worse depth. MDA buys himself more built in excuses why the Knicks continue to suck. Also I don't see the Nets throwing in 2 first round picks along with dwill for Melo

what does this have to do with MDA? And why is he buying anything? It's just the situation by which we can judge the Knicks front office, coaches, and players. No one is buying any excuses.

You can't build a TEAM with two players making almost 20 million a year
eating up the vast majority of the cap.
You can't build a TEAM with limited chips at best and limited draft picks
for the immediate future.
I submit that Amare and Melo are untradeable unless they rework their
contracts to be similar to those of Wade, Bosh and Lebitch.

No way the Nets say no for D. Williams & 2 first round picks for Melo. D. Williams could just walk to Dallas for nothing. We would do them a favor, while making the us a stronger team.

I have time warner and it doesn't bother me that I can't watch every Knick game. I'm not a fan of the coach but the players don't work, specifically Carmelo.

I have no problem with Amare & Chandler but Dwight Howard is better.

The problem I have with Carmelo is that he's not a winner...yeah he can score but he'll never be an MVP candidate.
Everyone of his teams get knocked out of the 1st round of the playoffs.

Let him sell some tickets for the Nets and let's bring in guys who'll lead us to a championship.

That's why the draft picks and having only 2 max players is important. We basically have 3 max guys with Chandler making 14 mill a year.

Turkeglu would have to be included, with any deal, that included with Amare + Chandler to Orlando.
Or we would have to take back a combination of some players of Q, Duhon, Jammer or Reddick.

I don't know if New Jersey would give us draft picks at this point for Melo.
I also do not see them considering a trade with us until Dwight Howard is traded and resigned.
The possibility of having Dwight Howard and Deron Williams is enough for them to trade with us, especially the way we are right now.
The problem is, I don't see any team willing to pay top dollar for our players.
We will get low ball offers with the way we are performing, only way can get top dollar is if we go back on a winning streak.
Especially for Amare, with an uninsured contract, and the way he is producing.
I think Orlando might consider Tyson Chandler + Melo, maybe even needing Iman.
I don't see Amare getting us any All Star back at this point.
We also wouldn't be able to deal Chandler till near the deadline.
He probably has the best value, cause he is producing and he isn't getting payed max $

Here I will give you guys a glimpse into the future(who was the poster on here we used to call ms cleo?) ok so we have Howard and dwill and nothing else. Howard is known to be a better defensive player than offensive right? MDA is an offensive coach. When things aren't going well don't you think the people complaining now will be complaining about the same things with that team. Our offense stinks, we have no one who can hit an open shot, Howard is a bum we news a consistent scored. A center like Daughter Howard does not fit MDA system trade him for Blake Griffin. dwill attitude stinks he is trying to get MDA fired just like Sloan. MDA needs more time to get this roster to gel. MDA needs to go etc. Same way most fans wanted to trade for Melo. We will never go far with gallo chandler. You need superstars like Melo to win championships. Now everyone wants to break it up for Howard dwill. Grass is always greener on the other side of the fence.

I was against including Gallo in the Carmelo trade. I was happy with the team before the trade. Basketball is a team game. We played as a team before the trade. Carmelo is not a team player. I'd rather root against him than for him.

Not to defend Dantoni but he also needs a point guard to make his offense work, not a ball stopping chucker.

D. Williams & D. Howard will win a championship together and I'd rather it be for the Knicks

Once again what I propose is:

Amare, Chandler, & Shumpert for Howard, Turkolou (expires in 2 years), & maybe a Reddick. Orlando is in 1st place and those players will keep them there.

Carmelo for (Unsigned) D. Williams & 2 first round picks. No Howard, No resigning therefore Nets don't have a draw for their new area. We give them a ticket seller/superstar for a guy that will leave for nothing. Knicks are entitled to those draft picks.

Comparison of salaries (2011-2012) of top three of Heat vs. Knicks:

LeBron James $16,022,500
Chris Bosh $16,022,500
Dwyane Wade $15,691,000

Carmelo Anthony $18,518,574
Amare Stoudemire $18,217,705
Tyson Chandler $13,107,838

Amare and Melo need to rework their contracts to
be more in line with their value.

Honestly, I feel that Chandler's salary is not that far out of whack
for what he brings.

can't do Amare for dwill. Net fans already are laughing in our faces at that proposal. Just check their forums. They don't want Amare's uninsured contract. They rather have dwill walk

Does it matterwhat their fans think? But i agree these ideas are ridiculous.

No one's giving much for our "stars." You think anyone watching us is saying that they want our max contract players? If we wanted other stars, we needed to have made better decisions over the past year and a half.

They shot their value in the face.

It's at the point where whoever will take on our 'stars' will be looking at it as a reclamation project.
