6 minutes so far. 6 points on 2/3 and 3 rebounds and the crowd is chanting his name. Boy would he like to stick it to the knicks - I am feeling a bit naseous!

They say he lost 100 pounds. Why could we not get him to do this? Hopefully he will sprain one of his balls within a couple of games.

Walsh got him in shape. He couldn't get off the bench and then he might have gotten injured. He did spend a lot of time injured when he was in NY.

Yeah - but he obviously did not want to play for us.

They say he lost 100 pounds. Why could we not get him to do this? Hopefully he will sprain one of his balls within a couple of games.

What made Eddy give up on us was that one season where, after once again turning up to camp out of shape and getting injured, Walsh then got him to lose a ton of weight during the season. He then came back, did okay the first game, then looked terrible in the next few (we used to lose our leads every time he was in the game). D'Antoni stopped playing him, Curry took offense and then had unnecessary kneee surgery (it could have waitied til the offseason) to stick it to him.

From that Curry decided that D'Antoni would never play him so there was no point in making any effort to get in shape. Thats why he has a grudge against us, which I think is laughable- he completely screwed us over every year by not coming to camp in anywhere near playing shape- it should be the very basic a player does and he couldn't be bothered. He then blamed everyone else but himself- it's hilarious that he thinks D'Antoni never gave him a chance when he was physically incapable of even making it through the first day of training camp. Such a sense of entitlement!

Getting Eddy Curry is what has held this team back for all those years (though thats IT's fault)- we lost the number TWO pick LaMarcus Aldridge, the number 9 pick (Noah), we had to trade away Jordan Hill to make cap space as Eddy Curry was taking up a huge chunk and couldn't be traded, then we had to trade away Anthony Randolph to finally get rid of him- thats 4 top 10 picks!

If you remember, the Knicks would be balling something ill-nasty and then every time Curry would come in, we would blow leads, destroy all flow, and just look like garbage.

So he caught a lot of flack jacket for that. They were trying to showcase him for some type of deal, but all for naught.

I'd agree with some of this - don't know that you can say all 4 picks were because of Eddy- but Eddy is soft, in more ways than one- and he clearly was never going to fit D'Antoni's need for a player, no matter how healthy and slim he was. I think that is why he gave up. I think there is blame on both sides - its not 100% Eddy, and the Knicks organization in the clear.

Yea, we would be balling something dope-ill and then Curry would come in, everything would grind to a halt.

And then the fans would blast Curry.

was this in 08/09 when he played a total of 11 minutes in three games, or 09/10 when he managed 7 games and 62 minutes?

Because I don't remember this team 'balling something dope' on their way to 32 and 29 wins respectively.

walsh got him in shape? really? as far as i remember eddy he was always extremely heavy with us towards the end which was the reason he wasn't playing.

I seem to recall he was in shape one year with us - lost the weight over the summer, etc., and then freak injury side lined him basically for good at that point.

Past Is Past/ I miss Donnie Walsh.

How different is berating Eddy Curry as responsible for destroying the Knicks franchise - in the same as berating Dolan for forcing the Carmelo Anthony trade?

Oh Never mind.

Yes. It was 09/10 when, I distinctly remember, the ill-balling was happening early in the season. I can't tell you if we were winning games, but the team had a promising flow in some games and when Eddy Curry came in, that flow was arrested. This was the problem.

I can't speak for the 32 or 29 wins, but I can assure you that if some of those losses were wins, we would be talking about maybe 35 or 36 wins.
