Miller wanted to be reunited with Doleac. The two helped the University of Utah reach the NCAA title game in 1998.

"He's a guy that can guard guys on the block, set screens and shoot the ball when he's open," Miller said. "He can get up and down the court when he needs to. I think he's just a guy that can bring some toughness to Dnever

While Miller leads a group of veteran guards, the Nuggets lack an experienced forward with some girth to complement Camby, second-year forward Nene and star rookie Carmelo Anthony.

The 6-foot-11, 265-pound Doleac fits that description.

JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

Basically, Doleac does all the same things that KT does. So his loss doesn't really matter if KT stays healthy.

I loved Mike Doleac. Just a hard working player that got into great shape and improved his game for his contract year. I kinda liked the knicks having a little diversity, too. Oh well.
Let it be known: I believe in the Knicks this year-- deep into the playoffs, I swear to you my brothers...

this sucks Isiah gave away that 2nd round pick for nothing, it was included in exchange for the guarantee that Atlanta would release Doleac. Isiah looks pretty dumb

Nuggets acquire Doleac
Feb. 20, 2004
The Sports Network

Denver, CO (Sports Network) - The Denver Nuggets signed center Michael Doleac Friday after he was claimed off waivers from the Atlanta Hawks.

Doleac was waived by the Hawks on Wednesday without ever playing a game in Atlanta. In 46 games with the Knicks this season, he averaged 5.0 points and 4.1 rebounds. New York traded Doleac to Atlanta just days before he was waived by the Hawks.

The 6'11", 262-pounder began his career in 1998 with Orlando.

Doleac was too much of a robbot for my liking. He did play some hard-nosed deffense though.
Good pick-up for the the Nuggets because they wantecd him all along and now they got him without giving up White.

No it's not. The trade was still well worth making.

Doleac could shoot, but that's it. I didn't like his D or his rebounding, and everyone would get excited when he'd flash a post-up move once every five games, but that's only because it was so unexpected.

How was he going to find minutes behind Nazr and Motumbo anyway? He's not better than either of them. Suppose in some games w/ some matchups he'd take some of OT's minutes, but other than that, basically an insurance policy. No great loss. And even if we squandered a 2nd round pick, so what? Our team's too deep for mid to late (remember, we're playoff team) 2nd rounders to catch on.
