Franchises are NOT built by being short-sighted. They are built with vison. Successful pro franchises have a plan that reaches 5-10 years down the road.

Steve Nash will be 38, which is too old. In two years, both Stoudemire and Anthony will be on the other side of 30 and on the physical decline train. Baron Davis is already a passenger on that train. That is reality. Time to seriously consider our former yoots. The days of past-prime players will no longer be tolerated.

Wilson Chandler's contract expires this year. Danilo Gallinari's contract also expires in 2012. Danilo Gallo and Wilson Chandler were great for this team. Both are versatile and both can shoot it from deep. Both can finish inside with a variety of intuitive moves. Time to bring at LEAST one of them back.

(Bleacher Report Poll) Would it be good for the Knicks to bring back Gallinari or Chandler?

Total votes: 436
Yes 94.5%
No 5.5%

It is never too early to start the primary campaign.

How long did Stockton play for? Did he have access to modern food medicine and a sweet Manhattan apartment like Steve Nash?

Nash isn't extending his career because of modern food medicine.

Nash is playing strong ball at this age because he follows a 'paleo' diet.

Nash can play forever. If you don't like him as a basketball player that is ok, but don't not like him because of his age.

If I could hang out with any one particular NBA player, it would be Ill Wil. And then I would smoke him out so hard, that he'd be ****ting unicorns whenever he got near this shiznit again.

Regardless of their age, in Baron Davis n Nash, those are the most realistic targets, and even the MLE might not be enough to sign them.
Wilson Chandler and Gallo, we have no realistic shot at with the MLE.
People called them "role players" when we traded for Melo and role players make much less than the MLE...

I am also not hoping to use the MLE on those players, I am hoping they will sign for our other 2 exemptions if we keep this core.....

RonRon - don't get The Answer Man started on the whole "role player" thing.

We have evidence that the roles being played by Gallo and The Mayor may have been more valuable than the perceived roles they were valued for.

Todays role player is tomorrows double double.

Whos minutes is Wilson taking? He doesn't really fit a need at this moment.

I don't understand guys content to lose. The guy resigned with a team he knew would not spend or put pieces around him to be successful. I guess some guys are content with the Millions (and I can't blame him for that) while others are in it for a championship.

the fact that you can't even have an unrelated thread without some tool here bringing him up make me think that rational minds are few and far between. Bunch of emotionally weak, angst riddled people. I mean, how many times can you argue the same shyt

I'd rather see Chandler back with stone faced highlight finishes and disappearing in 3rd quarters than anything Landry's bringing to the table as a starter.

Nash is in shape because of skateboarding down stairways.

The old guys in Beantown got one chip. They are not sniffing another. That would never do for our crew with our fanbase.

He fits a BIG need for the Knicks: off the bench play. He can come in at the 2, 3, 4. He defends, he stretches the floor, he runs and dunks.

"But that doesn’t excuse the ridiculousness of switching on EVERY freekin’ ball screen. I mean, do we have to watch Jorts guard Nash on a simple ball screen?

...Look, Gallo could stay in front of a guard or a 4. Wilson Chandler could stay in front of a guard or a 4. Shawne Williams could guard the post if he switched. These players are GONE." - Tommy Dee

NYKBocker: "(Amar'e) had a team around him that were very capable passers. From Felton to Gallo to The Mayor to Fields. They all looked to set him up and play off him. That's what happened."

Gotta bring one back.

Would love to see chipped tooth Chandler back. Very low maintenance player, plays D, and can create his own shot.

Chipped tooth?

Forget the superficial nonsense. The cold hard fact is The Mayor is 6'8 and muscular 230, and the fact his productivity increased - across the board - EVERY year in the league.

Yea, remember David Lee knocked out his front tooth accidentally on his return to the Garden as a Warrior.

Did you say David Lee?

Is there a single NBA roster that does NOT have former Knicks contributing in some form?

The Answer Man loved David Lee.

And David Lee got a bad infection from that bite. Hey, maybe we can have Chandler bite all the opponents...

The mayor can stay the Mayor of the province of Xinxang, China.
