The Spurs in 1998-1999 started off 6-8 during that Lockout shortened season and then went on a tear all the way to the Championship at the expense of our Knicks. Baron isn't here yet and Amare isn't in a groove yet but he will be soon enough especially when he has Baron running pick and roll with him. Can't wait to see Shump at his natural 2 guard position next to Baron.

Spurs had the Twin Towers and Popovich.

True but the Knicks have more talent than that Spurs team at least on paper especially with a healthy Baron Davis which remains to be seen of course but I still have faith if they can get it together they can get to the finals.

Playing detective here.....it's very likely that Nixluva's
secret stash of kool aid has been found....
and is being consumed.

It depends on what you mean by "talent." The Knicks have flashier players. I'll give you that.

There is hope guys 1998-1999 Spurs are a good example...of what I wish the Knicks were- a team with chemistry, leadership, superior coaching, a front office that is intelligent, patient & lucky, and ownership that knows how to own an NBA team, and not ruin things.

Disagree. A championship caliber Duncan craps on Stat and Melo combined.

Either way, this team has the talent, but that's about it.

The drive and coaching is non existent.

They were deep.

Had two ex-bulls with rings on their fingers.

You have been better off comparing this Knicks unit to the Spurs counterpoint in the finals. Our very own Knicks of 99. Slow start, new guard/forward in Spree, serious chemistry issues, injuries, loud whispers of firing the coach at seasons end....I'll never forget listening to Mike and the Mad Dogg a few days before the Knicks took on the Heat in the playoffs and they were killing the Knicks from top to bottom. Mike was screaming to "Back up the truck!" meaning it was time for the Knicks to clean house and blow up the roster. About 4-5 weeks later, the Knicks were playing for the title....

That was the last time I stopped listening to those fools.

There is no comparison for this team right now. Not the Spurs, not the Knicks of 1999. That team was dealing with two much talent, we are dealing with not enough. They had veteran leadership, defenders, slashers size, guard play.
