Two players going out....
is this a precursor for a roster addition?

Howard Beck @HowardBeckNYT
To those asking: Sending players to D-League does NOT open spots on NBA roster. Knicks still have 15.

Has to be one of the dumbest rules ever.

Good move. Assign your young players and give them a chance to play (and evaluate them) as opposed to sitting on the bench.

Well, at least they'll get PT down there.

JJ came back, Baron will be dressing soon.

Why travel 2 guys who can't fly the plane?

Let them get some burn.

Would've liked to see Lin get a chance with Davis out. Davis will be back soon otherwise they would be in full panic mode and give Lin a chance to run the point because what we have now clearly isn't working. If all goes well I see Baron at PG next year with Lin backing him up

+1 hopefully, if the Knicks are interested in grooming a young PG. You can watch all D League games free of charge (either live or archived):

Lin's games from last year might still on the site.

I almost spiked my tablet when I read the title....roster stays at 15...makes sense if we were winning. It sucks having to continue to wait....I'm tired of waiting. Right now were just waiting for Baron....then we'll wait for the trade deadline...then we'll wait to see if Kenyon martin or Jr smith come to save us.

Just waiting

Nice wasn't aware of that. I'll have to check it out now! Will help kill the downtime when the Knicks are off. You sure it's not blacked out?

JR Smith is interesting he could really help our Bench as would Kenyon Martin. If Amare continues to suck at D you can limit his minutes big time until he shows improvement

That's pretty cool. I want to see Lin play, so I will catch at least one of his games.

JR Smith is a headcase and the opposite of what this team needs.

Maybe the Knicks will bring up Devin Green if Landry continues to suck

Should be fine. D League games are streamed and archived over the internet, not tv, so there should be no blackout issue. If there is a blackout, then Erie is WAY too complacent in thinking that all of us would otherwise be going there to watch the games in person.

I don't know the real purpose of sending Lin to D League. With Baron Davis coming back, chances of him getting a shot will be none.
He seems to be a player capable of penetrating the pain and that is exactly what we need.

Jordan, I don't think he will be playing with JJ coming back. I can understand him going to the D League.

As for Devin Green, I think he is more skilled than Bill Walker and Novak.
They are both SF, that are not capable of playing SG with our current lineups.
They not only have not have the skills of a SG, aside from shooting the 3, they cannot defend 1.
It hurts my eyes watching Bill Walker lack of coordination and clumsiness.
Devin Green has a better shot to play the G/F role that we are missing.

I wonder what's the point of the d league if teams don't really use it. The rule that you still take up roster spots on the NBA team is completely retarded.

Alot of guys in the d league have been dominating for years and still haven't been called up....one guy off the head is Walter Russell....he's been averaging 9 assist every year. He's gotta be better than some of the garbage in the league.

The Knicks need perimeter help...they should be able to comb the d league for talent. For alot of guys its just a dead end where good talent goes to rot
