Bobcats are supposedly trying to trade him. Would you trade for him? What is his contract like? Maybe is motivated playing for MDA again.

I wouldn't think we can get good value for Amare right now...
If we can just get serviceable player and expirings I would be happy at this point.
With Baron Davis back, we have to get Amare going for a pump and dump....
That is our best chance to trade an uninsured max contract.
IF he still can't perform after Baron is back, we are doomed though.
So if we can trade him for expirings at this point, it would be a tough decision to make...

How does that help them? They are at 56 million (I found online). They still have to pay his salary and aren't paying luxury tax this year.

Stoudemire has had a few bad apple games, but I think it's a little early to say it's all over for him.

I like Diaw as a glue player that has previously been amazing under D'Antoni. Don't know what his contract is, don't know what Charlotte would want for him. Balkman + Jordan + cash? Sold!

If Charlotte wanted to make a trade - would the Knicks be interested in DJ Augustine as our PG of the future (great, now we'll get Felton's understudy?)?

As an aside, I would continue to say I'm surprised that he came into camp weighing significantly more than his playing weight of last year - and not because he wasn't fit - he claimed his body fat % was pretty much it's lowest ever! The issue being that he doesn't seem fit to play the type of speed/air game we became accustomed to last year.

Seriously, if it were "over" for Amare, then this franchise truly is cursed by the trade of Ewing.
If Amare turned out to be "done" after last year's injury, it would prove that the Knicks were like that episode of the Brady Bunch when they took that tiki doll and all that bad **** started happening. DAMMIT DOLAN! Hire EWING BACK!

I actually been messing with the trade checker all week. DJ Augustine isn't bad at all and they have kemba so DJ is expendable. Tyrus and diaw would make a nice rotation at the 4/5 with chandler and Jorts....

Charlotte would do it cuz they need star power. Jordan is desperate for that.

Guys,

Lets remember when you amnesty a player, you still have to pay him. Just gets him off the cap.

So only teams over the cap, or can afford to amnesty a player and replace him with another contract . Basically the cost of Tyson is Billups + Tyson - Clippers pay in. Or, before you reduce by 66 game schedule, Tyson costs like 25 mil.

Charlotte don't have the money to fill Diaw's salary with a free agent. there are owners who feel like if they are going to pay a player, they want them to play!

DJ is a good player and perhaps they can package him with another to make a good trade.

Regarding Amare, not many teams can take on a max uninsured contract.
