What does it tell you when the top 4 Knicks our of 5 Knicks shooters from last years team (not counting Melo) all had huge drops in their shooting efficiency this year over their career numbers. Why?
Last year they were being set up by a higher quality point guard, who was getting them the ball where they liked it, when they were open. This year Melo gets them the ball largely when he can't do anything with it myself. That means they are not set up based on being open, but more based on Melo not being open. Could that help explain such substantial drops in their shooting percentages this year? The second thought would probably be that the team has worked hard on their defense this year so far, instead of their offense, and the lack of an adequate preseason probably hurt as well.
What do you think caused these drops across the board?
