It's a building process...A few steps forward, hopefully not as many backwards...It's never in a straight line...We have a great front line...We need a point, period...How we do that might involve luck...But we have better personnel than last year..The coach has the rest of the year to adjust his style of play to the roster he has...Coach hasn't bought in on defense, he doesn't hold anyone accountable for defensive lapses...He still think we should shoot as many threes as possible instead of playing to the strength of the team...He might be right but it doesn't look that way...He has the rest of the season to prove us wrong...

holfresh - every time the Knicks management decides to change the roster via signing a veteran, it is a step backwards. No matter what it may look like on paper, compatibility is NEVER promised. Veterans, especially star veterans, bring ingrained habits that take a moment to adjust to a new context. You claim we have a great front line, I would offer we have great individuals.

The beauty of our former yoots is that they were not set in individual habits. As a result, they were more open to cohere as a team without strong willed agendas. They played an enjoyable brand of basketball that showed promise.

Bob McAdoo and Spencer Haywood were supposed to be a great front line. They were nice solo acts who never blended. If our "great" front line is to be great on the court there needs to be at LEAST one full season of playing together. Problem? With the Trader Joe strategy, the opportunity to grow as a unit is stunted.

None of our big three cannot afford a single, day off for injury. There is not much greatness on the bench.

Moral of the story?

The building process takes years - not months. ETA for this core frontcourt group, provided they can stay healthy? 2013-2014.

Get used to it.

Fan impatience is the problem. The 50 year plan, begun under Layden, is still in its early stages. Each GM has masterfully executed each step of the plan but it is still a work in progress. There are still 38 years to go. But once the plan is complete, watch out NBA!

The system and Coach are terrible.

I could see a half court slowed downed tempo haqve this team looking much better night in and out.

Here is the thing everyone wants to talk about we need time to gel but how many games did Denver win after the trade? I remember them going on a win streak. Denver is 8-4 right now. So why are they playing so well and we still need to gel?

Truth hurts. I think we should be calling New Jersey maybe Amare can go be the man their and attract other dudes to come play with him. We take Dwill off their hands and Sign a PF who can rebound and has a decent post up game. Use the MLE on a sixth man.

Never happens. Forwards who can rebound and play in the post are not walking around waiting to be snapped up.

Two more years to acquire quality depth via means other than wet fantasy. Get used to it.

Oh I don't know but having three above average PGs on the roster might have something to do with it. Just a guess.

TKF on Melo ::....he is a punk, a jerk, a self absorbed out of shape, self aggrandizing, unprofessional, volume chucking coach killing playoff loser!!
