RT @jonahballow X-rays negative on @carmeloanthony's sprained right ankle #Knicks #NBA
WELL THANK GOD! ha!!! what an absolute joke. kobe is playing on essentially a broken wrist that he gets completely numbed every game and melo takes himself out after a SLIGHT roll of the ankle. come on dude. give back $280K, or 1/66th of your $18 mil salary. there is absolutely no way he should have missed the rest of the game to get his freaking ankle x-rayed.
that was a complete mail-in by the knicks tonight. stoudemire took 6 shots and only made 1! and melo wasn't in the game past halfway in the 3rd period! shumpert shot, what, 20 times?
just a pathetic display tonight. no way this team is a title contender, that is an insult to teams that play together and at least bring it every night. what a joke.
That old Knicks attitude of playing injured may have looked tough, but it actually led to greater damage being done (see Allan Houston, Antonio McDyess, though the worst example is probably from another team, Grant Hill)- I'd rather a player just sat out an extra game or two and made sure they were 100%, rather than come back too early and make things worse.
We weren't winning that game with or without Melo- we stunk from tip off in every area of the game. I don't blame Melo for going iso so much these past few games- no other player seems to have anything going offensively. The problem is that they have now gotten used to that, and lost whatever remaining confidence they had, which in turn makes Melo put it all on his shoulders again. We're stuck in a vicious circle.
Hope Melo makes a quick recovery- we are up against good teams for the next few games, and without him we are just going to get embarrassed.
I worry about how tired the players are- our schedule has been pretty light compared to other teams so far- if they look this bad on a back to back, what the heck are they going to be like in a back to back to back?!
